Hi Everyone
Just wondered if anyone had experience of this.

I had my egg collection yesterday, got 7 eggs but was then told there was fluid in my uterine cavity so we have to abandon the cycle and freeze any good embryos on day 2. They said they didn't know what the fluid was.

I am so so devastated and cannot stop crying, I've barely slept which isn't helping either.

I am trying so hard to get positive again but I am so confused so hoping someone may be able to help on what may happen next...
They have said I have to wait for my period to arrive then do an FET.
Any idea how long it takes for period to arrive naturally after an IVF cycle? Normally I am like clockwork and it arrives 12 days after ovulation but do the IVF drugs muck things up??

Then once you get your period how long does it take from there?

Anyone else had this fluid??

Any help & advice would be very appreciated
xx

Hey Summer,

I've been looking online for you and it says that your AF should arrive a couple of days or so after when your OTD would have been I think. so in about 16 days?

I wouldn't be surprised if the drugs mucked it up a bit...

I read that depending on whether you have drugs with a FET or normal cycle e.g pop it in when about to ovulate that it depends when you can get started ie where you are in your cycle.

It really depends when your OHSS clears up as pregnancy can make this massively worse and it can be really dangerous. I think your clinic will monitor when the fluid goes and make sure your safe to go ahead with FET which means letting nature take its course maybe. Did the clinic say they can drain the fluid or will it go naturally?

Give the clinic a call too, they will be able to help you, they can't just tell you that sort of news and leave you to it, you need some advice and support.

Hope this helps a bit, I haven't experienced it but am gutted for you all the same x

Awwww Summer .... Sorry to hear this darling! I'm not much help, but didn't want to read and run! Xxxx

Thanks so much girls,
Mummy that was so lovely to look into it, you managed to find out much more than me!

They don't even know what the fluid is, apparently my ovaries got really big and they think it might be because I was on such high stims doseage, they think it will go away on it's own. I was in a dance class yesterday and I think most of it may have already gone, it was awful, it felt like I imagine waters breaking feel like haha! (sorry, tmi!)

got a review appointment next tuesday so at least things are still moving.

Thanks again girlies xx

Good news that 5 have been suitable for freezing! That's really good :)

Hope you get back to norm really quickly and you can start again soon!

xx
