Not sure if this applies to anyone but I just thought I would mention it.
At work I have started to get emails about my Abbey National account which is great considering I don't Bank with Abbey National

The difference with these emails is they look completely convincing with Abbey National logos and email address containing Abbey National.

Anyway a girl that works in our office does Bank with Abbey National and got one of these emails about six months ago. It asked her to fill in a form re online banking security asking for account numbers password etc and she did. One week later she discovered all of her accounts had been practically emptied. She had to make a full report and eventually the money was returned to her as it was accepted as fraud but it took quite a while.

I get these all the time

Abby
Natwest
Nationwide

Only account i have is natwest lol and i never do bank stuff though e-mails

i get loads of these all the time ive also had one saying my hsbc account has been suspended and i need to verify my details to get it back up and running when i rang my bank they said no so such thing had happened and it was all a scam a lady i know had 6000 taken out her account but luckly called the bank as soon as she relised and got it back but it did take a long time

These emails can come from every bank basically. When i was still at work i got them all the time from abbey, natwest, halifax and rbs and the first time it was from abbey and i phoned them as i didnt have an abbey account and they confirmed it was a scam so beware regardless of which bank you r with. Kx

I get them too from HSBC and LLoyds - I do have lloyds account but knew it was a scam

a bank will NEVER ever ask you to send details by email they're all scams those emails

Yeah what ever u do dont reply - just delete.

Its called Phishing.. some genuine banks have a link on their site about this and u can send them an email containing the offending data and they 'look into' it. Not sure they do but hey ....

I get them all the time too, and I've always ignored them until I started getting them from HSBC - HSBC are the only bank I use, so I actually read it.
I logged into my online banking as usual - NOT through the email link, and there were no messages on my account. I forwarded the email to the banks phising email thingy and it didnt take long for me to stop getting them.
If you can, always mark these emails as phising through your email account if you can, or forward to your bank if they have a designated email account for phising, and hopefully these scummers will stop spamming us all.

My friend, on the other hand, saves these bank emails up, and then whenever she gets one of those " i have $30,000000 I need to put in an account please help me" emails, she forwards them the bank ones.. keeps her amused anyway!
