Abnormal Triple Screen Results?

Has anyone had any experience with their triple screen results coming back abnormal? I got a call today letting me know that baby has a chance of having Down Syndrome. They didn't tell me much other than that, and said we would discuss numbers tomorrow at my appointment.

I haven't gotten a call about my results (had the draw on 6/2/14) but my MD said even if they do call me not to panic. It doesn't mean much until they actually look at the ultrasound. She said if the results came back high then they would schedule me for the in depth ultra sound. She said most of the time everything turns out fine.

That's good to hear. Of course, I would not be upset at all is the baby does have DS. I'm just concerned about health problems. It's never fun to see a baby go through any kind of health problem.

There are so many false positives. It doesn't mean anything other than you require additional testing.

Probably a repeat test and maybe an ultrasound.
