Absolutely gutted!!

I rang gyny up to get my cd21 blood test resullt progesterone, after being put on hold more than 3 times a nurse told me it was less than 1 talk about gutted!! so cycle 2 of clomid hasnt worked! i asked her if i can up the doseage she said no not yet carry on taking 50mg and come to the review in september! I mean whats the point in taking the clomid knowing its not working?? sorry for rant just a bit upset xxx

I took it for four months knowing for a fact it wasn't working but my hospital didn't even bother to offer blood testing. It was a pointless exercise; a complete waste of time, but it's a step you have to take on the infertility journey. I saw it as a stepping stone onto other things, in the end. It was the only way I could get my head around the fact that I was taking a drug that was doing nothing for me, so that I could say "Been there, done that, didn't work" and ask for something better.

No, you see if it works on 100mg when they allow you to move up to that dosage and then take it from there. I know of a person who was on 50mg then moved up to 100mg. It worked once on 50mg, didn't work the next time OR the time after. Didn't work on 100mg either but she got pregnant the very last month of using it. It can be hit and miss. Clomid is very mild in terms of fertility treatment and is normally the very first step in your infertility journey. There are other options that can be talked through with your FS if it is established after the set time that Clomid has not worked.

Remember that some people are on Clomid for six months before it does anything for them. It all depends on the advice given by your FS.
