For god's sake, don't worry! I wouldn't have thought to ask about the sauce. I'm sure I've had similar things. I eat bean sprouts all the time, actually, and never knew they were off-limits. For that matter, I eat soft cheese, too, and if I go to a catered work lunch with deli meat sandwiches then of course I eat them.
Our mothers and grandmothers did not know about these restrictions. In my first pregnancy, I went home to see my parents and my mom had made a big chocolate mousse, with all sorts of raw stuff (eggs and yolks, yes indeed!) in it. I didn't have the heart to tell her I couldn't eat it because it was for me, to celebrate my first child. It was DELICIOUS. I had no problems at all.
Most eggs you'll eat, and certainly the ones restaurants use, will be free of salmonella, and most dairy products will be pasteurized unless you specifically seek out the other stuff.
