Accidentally Pregnant Shortly After M/C

Curious if any of you have had this happen. I suffered a blighted ovum at 6.5 weeks. A week later, I took misoprostol to induce the m/c. My doctor advised us to wait a cycle or two before trying again. I bled for 10 days, and after 7 weeks of no sex before that (doctor advised against it because of spotting), DH and I had sex a few times, but not much since.

In the past week or so, I've had a nagging feeling that I'm pregnant. I still haven't gotten a period (Monday was 4 weeks since I began bleeding). I've had a few dizzy spells which were the first and earliest signs in my last two pregnancies, very hungry, tired, skin's breaking out, my nails have been growing like crazy and I've been emotional. I've also had a strange eye twitch for about a week now, which I just read can be a symptom. The only thing I'm lacking are sore boobs.

I'm sure I could just be imagining things right now, but I have a feeling. But I am curious, has this happened to anybody else?

Firstly, I'm sorry for your losses. I wanted to tell you though it's happened to me! I had to have a D&C on 26th August for a failed twin pregnancy. Because it was twins my HCG was high for longer than a straight single miscarriage would have shown. But because of my history we were told not to try again until a fertility specialist had seen us.

We used condoms but occassionally hubby would ahem... tmi.... put it in first not for long and then use a condom. So we had our appointment on 9th October and they had to do a scan to make sure there were no obvious abnormalities in my uterus and lo and behold there was a yolk sac, the starting of a new pregnancy. I hadn't had AF or anything following the D&C and had another scan on Monday and saw a heartbeat etc so am now 7w+2d, it's mad as it's only been 8 weeks since my D&C!!!

So the moral of the story is, it's VERY possible! I can't say much about the symptoms as I didn't have any, hence why I had no idea.

Did the doctors follow your HCG down at all? I had tests done to follow mine down but then got annoyed with the appointments clashing with work and so stopped having them done, if I had carried on I'd have at least suspected a pregnancy much earlier on xxx

Yes, it's certainly possible you are pregnant again. All it takes is that one time. However, I will caution you that it's also normal to have pregnancy symptoms after a miscarriage. I've had numerous losses and after every single one, I've had a few weeks of phantom pg symptoms that would make you swear you are pg just before AF shows up. It's also not uncommon for AF to be late the first cycle after m/c. I typically don't get AF until 3-4 weeks after my hCG has dropped back to 0 so it's been anywhere from 5-8 weeks post m/c before she's come. I know it's horrid to feel pg right now and it's certainly possible if you ovulated but the only way to know for sure is to test. If you get a line, retest in a few days. If the line gets darker, then it's likely you have a new pregnancy. Or you can just call your doctor and get your hCG levels tested. They'll probably want a repeat (if your hCG is elevated) to rule out residual hormones from your m/c but again, if your hormones are rising, it's probably a new pregnancy. If not, then it's probably just phantom symptoms. Good luck and
