Accupuncture/reflexology - advice please

Wow, congratulations! Thats wonderful! Did you do anything else differently or just the acupuncture?

Absolutely nothing different. Had appointments twice a week initially, then down to once a week so really it only took about three months of acupuncture to get my BFP. Tbh I really struggled getting the herbs down so it was hit and miss whether I took them most days so I would put it down to co-incidence or the acupuncture.

I started reflexology 2 days ago, and it was really good! She did a medical history questionaire before hand, but I didn't mention having a MC last month or TTC, and she got to my heels and said 'Have you ever had any problems with your ovaries or womb?' I almost fell off the chair! She said I have a massive blockage there, so I explained everything, and she's gona spend time there every month and try and sort things out! She was really helpful, gave me a few things to do at home to help it too. Couldn't believe she tapped into it without me saying anything!

So fingers crossed it works, or at least helps.

I have been going to acupunture since my 2nd cycle ttc, one my 4th now with a bfp at 10dpo, but had a chem a couple of cycles back so still a bit nervous! The fellow I went to picked up first session that my liver was less than healthy, and after thinking back I did have alot of symtoms that pointed to a sluggish liver, finding out after a bit of reading thats it one of the most important organs, besides the reproductive one, that can case infertility. The differnce has been amazing to say the least, it was worth it just to feel this good again, really didnt know I felt that bad until I started. He is now just balancing out my body after regulating my liver function. I take the chinese herbs and this cycle I added a teaspoon of honey and a pinch of cinnamon, taken daily. The honey and cinnamon are supposed to increase the longevity of your egg, ie: makes it stay fresher for longer so you have more of a chance for the sperm to come in contact, its been used for centuries by alot of eastern cultures. I have no concrete evidence that any of this has worked, it could all just be a co-incidence, but beanie is here and they are the most harmless things to try when ttc. The next thing I was going to give a go was bee pollen, thats what is suppose to be in the honey that makes it work, full of lots of vitamins and minerals too and have read many success stories about ladies using it, its here unopened and hopefully it stays that way! Good luck to you lovley ladies!:hugs:

Congratulations WannaB and Jeanettekaren, great news on your :BFP:'s, it gives me some hope as I'm starting in January.:happydance:

I've just finished my 6th week.

I know the owner of the practice and have been getting the treatments for free. He has said to beware because it only works for 6 sessions - as that's when it hits it's peak. After that you should only get boosters i.e. 1 session, once a month.

I also had electrical stimulation to my points via small clips attached to the needles. I have also been given tablets for 1 evening after each session. But anyway..to the point. I have had severe dysmenorrhea and it has improved amazingly. I was on morphine for my periods! And last cycle I didn't need it! For the first time in 2 years.

I actually studied acupuncture and know first hand that acupuncture works differently based on the individual. One person may require more or less treatments than another based on their symptoms. I do not believe that you can "max out" at six treatments. Acupuncture treatments build upon each treatment strengthening the affect as you go. Six treatments is usually the point at which you assess your progress thus far and then decide to either: a. stick to the current treatment, or b. try something else.
While acupuncture is a great resource, the addition of Chinese herbs can also help significantly. Herbs can act as treatment when you are not having acupuncture, therefore enhancing your chances of becoming pregnant. Also, the use of electro-acupuncture before IVF treatments has been studied and is proving helpful in conceiving. I hope that some of this has been helpful. Good luck TTC!!!:hugs:
