Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem with their toddler. my son hayden is 17 months old and when he gets upset he hits himself in the head or bangs it on the floor. i have tried everything to get him to stop. I guess i just worry as every mother does, but sometimes i can't help but think that maybe something is wrong like autism or something.

any advice

take care

I didnt wanna read and run, I dont really have any advice except to maybe see a doctor? Or health visitor?

Found a couple of things that might be useful (looks like a lot of kids - boys more than girls - go through phases of doing this) and it's usually nothing to worry about. There are a few things on the first link that will hopefully rule out autism for you...but might be worth having a word with your doctor just to put your mind at rest x

My son went through exactly the same thing...If he was told off or annoyed he would head butt the floor and sometimes a few times(for effect i think) ..The way i handled it was to ignore it as he done it for the attention, he grew out of it very quicky!

agree with baby.love just a stage and best to ignore x

thanks for all of your great ideas, i really appreciate it

take care
