Adoption?

Have any of you ladies considered adoption? or have any of you adopted?
Its just im curious about it. Me and my partner are looking into it at and there are a few bits ive read on it that worry me.... Like they check your medical records. I have mh problems, and im thinking that will be held against me....

Mental Health issues won't be held against you if you can show you can/have overcome them and actively sought help and wouldn't be afraid to ask for help if you were matched with a child. You would both have a medical done and if they didn't think you had any current mental health issues then this wouldn't be a contra indication to being able to adopt, they would probably just say that you need to be aware in case stress when a child is placed sets anything off again.

Thanks for that xx I am still seeing people for them, and I dnt think I need to be but because I was in hospital (justover 1 yr ago) because I basically had a break down they still offer me help....

My husband and I went as far as having the first interview for adoption, but decided against it after that. Here, the wait is 2-5 years...and all have some sort of "special need". I have a daughter with autism already, and also I don't want to wait that long...so we are just going to continue TTC ourselves.
