So I am in my 8th cycle ttc #1. Have used opks twice in the past and got 2 surges a month. Otherwise have 31 day cycles. Irregular sleep patterns so temping is obsolete. What has been successful for you? Should I splurge on the monitor? Or is the advanced basically the same?

Hi, I believe the monitor takes a while to get to know your cycles so I would go for the CB advanced if you don't want to wait for that.

littlelily is right, the CBFM takes (I think) 3 cycles to get to know your cycle. It can also be expensive as if it doesn't register your first peak during the first 10 sticks (it asks for the first one CD6), then you'll be asked for the next 10:wacko: I've also had a couple of wacky cycles with it as it worked fine the first month but the next month only gave me my 2 peaks and the month after no peaks. Good thing I was using OPKs that registered my LH surge both times the monitor was weird:thumbup:

Don't have any experience with the advanced OPKs so no idea how good they are:shrug:

I guess it also depends on if you want to wait for the monitor to get to know you. I'd recommend that if you do choose the monitor, to use OPKs at the same time as close to your normal O day as possible in case the monitor goes nuts and doesn't register your surge so you can see if you did have a surge or not and won't be driving yourself nuts over that.
