So i'm on hourly pay, 20 hours per week.

They're using my hours from the 2nd may - 26th June to calculate my maternity pay (SMP). I've only ever had one sick note and that was right at the beginning of pregnancy. I'm off to the GP today and i'm certain she will give me a sick note for the week, which obviously interferes with my SMP calculations, so how do they work it out when somebody has a sick note?

Its all so confusing and there is nothing online to help

I think it will all depend on company policy and if you get paid sick etc. Speak to your manager or whoever about it, hopefully they will be able to advise you x

If you get sick pay then that will also be used when working out you average weekly earnings. It just depends how long your off sick for. X

Thats great thank you. My manager hasn't got a clue, I'll just send off my MAT1B form next week to head office and hope for the best xx
