Hi girls

Wll my DH finally got his S.A results yesterday and it was 24 million/ ml. This doctor has asked that he have another S.A in 2 weeks as she says this is inconclusive (meaning it's boardering on low).

I thought that over 20 million was ok? I know he's not far off but would they class this as a concern??

We had a family wedding 3 days before S.A test at which he was very merry(!!) could this have affected his result?

I'm also off too buy lots of vitamins and fresh food. I know 2 weeks isn't really long enough to make much of a difference but it can't hurt.

Any suggestions on what mg of certain vitamins he should be taking?

Thanks and sorry for so many questions!!

hey hun, dont know what mg he should be taking but my friend got preg after her man took zinc for a month!!

i thought 20 million was ok aswell......

I don't think the wedding celebrations 3 days before would have affected his count, and I too thought that 20 million + was normal. Maybe they just want to be sure...

Apparently zinc is good, and I think i read somewhere that tomatoes are good too

xx

i have my other half taking vitamin c with zinc as i have heard it is good for sperm.

My DH is taking zinc as I have also heard that is good for sperm.

With the drinking, it could have something to do with it as my dr advised us that if a man has a few too many in one go, it can affect his sperm for upto 3months! The dr advised my DH to limit drinking to around 20 units (about 10 pints) a week and no more than 10 units (5 pints) in one go. x

Hi Mrs R, If you google sperm count etc it will tell you how long it takes to renew the swimmers in the testes. I think it's about 3 month-but don't quote me!

There are some good supplements around for guys.

My hubby takes will be taking New Chapter from next week( I have been taking their pre natal for ages!) He has also taken the Bio Care ASC which made him a bit uptight and he got a coldsore(which I read can happen-so would check with Dr that this is ok to take in this amount) but this is l-carnatine and l-arginine and taurine which is supposed to be good for the swimmers. Hope that might help!

This one didn't work before, this lady who is adoctor came to our hospital to give a chat to the ladies and men ttc, she has a range of supplements for men and women.

Hi - yeah my DH has been taking zinc now for a couple of months - and received good results on his SA today - I'm not sure if the zinc has helped as this is his first ever SA, but I had read somewhere that it would help.

I too thought that 20 million + was good. From reading other posts it seems that people are being told slightly differing things regarding what is normal re SA - I'm starting to find this all very confusing

I just googled normal sperm count and got that the normal was 40 million per ml but I don't know what low normal would be sorry

Thats ok. DH had his 2nd SA last week so we should be getting the results in a few days. Im praying things are looking better. Fingers crossed for us! lol I'll let you know how he gets on. For his sake, Im hoping it gets better ...
