layla is 3weeks tomorrow we had a rough start with a tongue tie which has been snipped and we are still working on our latch but its great 90% of the time.
We have had a tough 72 hours as the has a cold and I think the heat took it out of her and she became really fussy when feeding. She would go on the pull off shout to go back on pull off this went on for hours till the tired her self out.
But since then she is not feeding off my left side no idea why its not sore/hot/lumpy she will feed for say 2 mins then go sleep and suckle on the right she will feed for a good 5/10mins of gulps then suckles,
If I feed on the left she settles for hours if it's the right I'm lucky to get an hour
I'm worried about my supply esp left but don't feel full on either side any more has my milk regulated itself? Any ideas?

Hey hun!!

I didnt realise Layla has tongue tie, i just found out DJ has it too and we are waiting on a referral...has it gone well??

I have had to exclusively express since day 3 as he wont latch...well, he has about 3 times (no matter how much i try to get him on the boob ) but i have noticed one side produces way more milk than the other, could it be something to do with this? Or the other thing i noticed is when he has latched on its always on my right side and i remember the specialist at the hospital mentioned that they favor a side and that if you do the rugby hold it can recreate the same side??

Hope you and Layla are well and hopefully this was helpful and not just my demented ramblings from being so over tired LOL xxxx

Keep going with the one she doesn't want! milk levels don't settle til around 6-12 weeks so it's doubtful that's anything to do with it. It could be the breast let down is faster or slower than the other side, if she's gulping/choking it's too fast, if she batting or pulling at the breast or getting annoyed with it it may be too slow but you should persevere. babies can favour one side so don't worry.
