Hey there, so OH and I have just moved to a new town and I got a new job. I wasn't feeling too hot but I chalked it up to the move and everything. A week ago I found out I was pregnant and symptoms have just been getting worse and worse. I go to bed as soon as I get home from work at 3 pm, sleep until supper, then back to bed at 9-10 and I STILL sleep in. I have two written warnings already for being late, but I just can't help it. I don't want to tell them yet because I haven't even gotten an ultra sound yet! But I'm going to lose my job and there's nothing I can do. I go outside, I tried to stay awake all the way until 10 pm with no naps and slept for 14 hours instead. I used to work at a call center, the one here has better hours and more understanding, but emotionally, I am a wreck. I get soo angry and hurt so easily, that I really don't think I can do telemarketing right now or anything customer service related. I'm only 5 weeks along, I can't be off work my entire pregnancy! and most people won't hire you if you're showing, I'm so worried! Is there any advice or job ideas or anything? Am I eligible for EI or ontario works even if OH is working full time? Help! :(

I'm also from Ontario but I don't know how the EI system works.

If I were you I would again consider telling your employer... I'm sure that if they knew you're pregnant they would be a bit more lenient and perhaps could rearrange your work schedule....?

Best of luck hun!

:hugs:

Could you speak to your Dr and get the US equivalent of a sick note?
