How would you pronounce Ailbhe? Google is saying al-vee, Al-vah and al-vuh :)

Al-vee is my favourite way of pronouncing it so I was hoping that! OH is Irish and keeps switching between al-vee and Al-vah x

Al-vee

Though it can be a dialect thing. In Northern Ireland the word for black - dubh uses the bh as a v sound, I. Dublin it's silent.

Knowing nothing about this name at all, I honestly thought it was a try-hard way to spell Albie. So I was pronouncing it that way.

We live in northern Ireland thankfully so shouldn't be a problem. I think my English family will be confused at first though!

Ale-buh-huh

Spot the massively ignorant English woman in this conversation!

Al-vah
Lived in Dublin for years and this is how it was pronounced there.
