Albert as a baby name?

My great grandfather was called albert and he captained the welsh rugby team
my hubby just suggested albert as a boys baby name and it would be albert James Edwards. What do you think, it could be shortened to al bert or bertie
It's a cute name but I'm not sure how a teenager would like being called albert

What do u all think?

It was on our list but it didn't suit our LO.
You could also shorten it to Albie

we have a little baby Albert!

we mainly call him Bert or Bertie though-we get alot of comments on how its a lovely name being bought back! most elderly ladies who hear what he's called are pleased as punch, bless them

It's adorable, my grandfather was an Albert but my cousin got there first. Albie or Bertie is a great teenage name, I think it works very well on all ages!

LOVE Albert!!! At uni, I had a 20something tutor called Albert and it worked really well on him. I think it's one of those names that grow up with you. Great choice!

I love the name and think Bertie is adorable. A lot of the old school names are really seeing a come back now, I don't see it will remain an "old" name.
