Ok so I'm not a very 'good' breastfeeder and I only BF Ally 2 or occasionally 3times a day. But I don't know the bfing rules about alcohol and stuff.

I usually BF Alasdair at 9.30am (no sooner, sometimes later) and at around 4/5 in the evening. If I had an alcoholic drink in the evening would I be ok to feed the next day? I'm guessing a lunch time drink is a nono. I wouldn't be drinking much. Maybe 1 glass of wine at lunch and 2 drinks in the evening.

I'm thinking about Christmas day lol.

If you're sober enough to drive your ok to BF - thats my rough rule. I think a glass at lunchtime would be ok. I had 3 glasses and a cocktail on sunday afternoon (xmas do)and pumped when I got home and threw it away. I fed her again the next day (I had pumped feeds in advance. You could always pump a feed?? :)

thank you! I don't think I'll pump as it'll be a bit of a faff doing it with all the family around plus I bf as part of his routine if that makes sense. I probably won't get past one drink at each meal tbh, I'm such a light weight this year. Good thing I guess! I like your rule about drinking and driving/bf!

I used to be hard core!! I would nail a bottle of wine and cocktails normally on that particular lunch do but this year I was feeling it after my second glass of red!!

My dr at my 6 week appointment said 1 or 2 units really doesnt matter but anymore leave 3 to 4 hours. I bfed leo as he was woken up by me dropping something after Id had a glass of wine during x factor you dont need to be as strict as when youre pregnant.
