I was recently advised to use Johnsons Baby Oil for Theos dry skin on his face. I put it on a cotton wool ball and used it on his face, now my lil boy has a rash all over his face. Loads of lil red spots.
Is there anything I could use or should I just use plain cooled water? xx

Olive oil - I was always advised to use this as its natural and has no perfume or irritants in it.

wash the johnsons off with water an use olive oil instead zane had very bad skin and that worked great.

When i was a baby i was allergic to johnsons but grew out of it

at our clinic when they do baby massage they use grapeseed oil. cant rememeber why they use that instead of olive oil! if you do alittle patch test on the arm before you'll know if he's ok with it xx

I used to use Olive Oil, but have since found that Aveeno is the answer to all my prayers! It clears up rashes, dry skin, scratch marks (when I forget to trim his nails :dohh:) It works beautifully on his teething rash too.

i used Aveeno on myself when my eczema was bad and its gorgeous to use, never thougth about using it on zane tho i might have to get some free from my docs and give it to zane hahaha

yes olive oil is great, all natural. baby oil is full of harsh chemicals even though its for babys!

I know - it's just fab stuff! I'm trying to find some Aveeno sunscreen, but they don't do it in the UK. Have a feeling I'm going to have to get it from the US. Not cheap!!

I agree with this, i really dislike baby oil its so heavily perfumed and if you look at the ingredients label its got so many nasties in it yet its still 'number 1'

All of my mws dislike it to which made me laugh as im sure they used to market baby oil as 'the midwives choice'

Grapeseed or wheatgerm oil should sort the problem out.

any cold pressed oil can be used to moisturise babys skin (olive.grapeseed etc)

i have always been allergic to johnsons stuff, dont know why exactly. i found that my son came up with a rash after their oil and where ever i used their wipes too , i used olive oil on his dry skin when he was tiny and now he has a massage with boots own baby lotion or aveeno cream (which i love , i use it on myself now too )

Olive oil! The Aveeno sunscreen btw gave Helena a horrible reaction, her eyes swelled shut and her nose and eyes just started pouring. Gave MissJess's Josh a reaction too. The Ombrelle stuff is much better (for those who were talking about it)
