Is this normal? He is 7Weeks And 3 days. For the first time last night he had his feed at 9pm. Was awake until 11pm when he fell asleep And only got up again at 5am! He didn't fuss or get up for his usual 12am or 3.30am feed!

We have recently started give him more milk which I have noticed keeps him Fuller for half an hour To an hour longer. No other change To his routine.

Should I leave him To sleep tonight if he does it again? Also he puts himself To sleep if we swaddle him.He is still getting about 7-8 feedings a day.

No words of wisdom here, my 3 year old is still not sleeping through, but had to say he's gorgeous!!!

My little one has been sleeping on and off through the night since she was about three weeks old and if she doesn't sleep through only wakes up for one feed. I spoke to the health visitor who told me to let her sleep and enjoy my sleep while I can!

My lo slept thru the day between 6 to 10 weeks 😂
She would have her 10am feed and then sleep till 5pm - i used this to catch up on my sleep. This was not regular, was about 2-3 times a week. Then all of a sudden she went into an "eating every 3 hours" mode and shortly after that started sleeping through the night

Our baby has been STTN since 6 weeks old. 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
No worries until he's gaining normally.

The only think my HV said is that I should pump before going to bed since the amount of time between feeds was so big.

The only time I worried is when he was about 7 weeks old and slept 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. without feeds. I woke at 6 am, panicked and then spent the next two hours by his bed looking at him :haha: He does that occasionaly now, about once every two weeks, but since his doctor isn't worried we aren't either. Sometimes they just need more sleep to process everything.

You can try googling and mapping out growth spurts and wonder weeks - it helps me a lot in understanding what is going on with him in any given time, so I'm not stressing too much :)

Basically what his doc said is that if he's acting normal, happy and alert when awake, then sleeping a lot is not an issue. You just need to separate between sleepy, which is normal, and lethargic, which is not.

Thanks ladies!

Keepinitreal I did the same thing lol. I got up at 4am realising he hadn't got up for his feed And spent the next hour staring at him And panicing until he got up. Couldn't give him the boob fast enough! Lol. Also I was super engorged by the time I fed him so it was a huge relief after he was done.

I am going To monitor his feeding during the day. He asks for his feed himself every 3-3.5hours so will stick To every 3 hours esp the last 2-3 feeds before putting him down for the night. If he ends up sleeping through the night I'm going To let him And monitor his weight through the week To see if his weight gain stays consistent or slows down. If it's consistent I'm going To let him do his thing, if not I will be getting him up for a night time feed

DS1 slept 7-7 at 10 weeks. DS2 did it at 14 weeks.

As long as LO is eating well during the day then its fine. Enjoy...

DD1 slept through the night from 6 weeks, DD2 from 12 weeks (daddy's snoring kept waking her til she went in her own room). DS is 6 weeks old and he manages 5-6 hours straight at the moment. Like other posters have said, as long as he is getting enough during the day and gaining weight it's ok x

Yup very normal! My 5 week old Sttn also

It can be really normal around that time. Make the most of it and get yourself to bed so you are caught up on sleep. My daughter had a few weeks when she was often sleeping from her last feed at 11pm until 6am around that age. It didn't last (she's 3.5 now and still wakes up once a night), but it was a nice respite and a chance to get some sleep. I would leave him if he's content and not wake him for a feed. He'll let you know if he needs something.

I agree with what everyone else has said. As long as he's weight gain is still ok then I would let him sleep through.
My first 3 all slept through pretty early (2.5 weeks, 3.5 weeks and 7 weeks) and the HV's always told me it was ok. Dd4 however didn't sleep through until nearly 2 years :dohh:

I forgot to mention one more thing that only came to my attention now that we're on vacation at the seaside and it's hotter than the devil's bottom.

My LO only ASKED for feeds every 3-3,5 hours at home, similar to yours.
But here, I was worried about his hydration so I started offering the bottle more frequently and guess what - he ate a bunch more than he does at home. Now, I will contribute this partly to the heat, but I'm suspecting that he WOULD eat more at home IF he was offered more often. So I'm planning on offering him the bottle at home before he asks for it. He's a dinky little chap so putting some weight on won't hurt him :)

So maybe you could also try offering before he actually demands to be fed? Maybe this way you will have less worries about not feeding throughout the night? I know that sitting there and BF every 2 hours can be boring as hell, but still, it's only for a short while...

My LO slept through the night for the first time at 4 weeks, she did so maybe 50% of nights between 4 and 6 weeks, and has went 10-12h a night since 6 weeks. She was quite small at birth (under 7lbs) but put on weight perfectly by feeding on demand. I was worried at first but even during sleep regressions (4 month and 8 month) she has only had maybe 2-3 bad nights where she has been up once in the night. She's nearly 9 months and has just completely stopped napping other than maybe 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. She's awake for 12 hours and asleep for 12. That has its own challenges and sometimes I wish she would nap a bit more and maybe get up earlier in the morning!

My baby has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 weeks old (11pm to 7am at first and now 8pm to 8am)

Oh wow. I'm just totally jealous. Anyone got any tips for me, my 8 week old is FF and still waking for at least one night feed x

Unfortunately, I think this is completely normal and I'm not sure that trying to encourage night feeds to be dropped at this age would be recommended. My 11 week old has 2 night feeds and I tell everyone that she's a great little sleeper (which she is, compared to what her brothers were like).

My one month old went 10,8, 7, and 6 hours recently but tonight she is back down to 5 hours :(

I agree! With my first I tried everything and anything to try and get her to Sttn but she only did at 4 months when she was ready. I know that for a baby to Sttn they need to be at least 10 pounds and drink 6-7 ounces on their last feed. Until then, it's unlikely they will Sttn because they need the extra feeds. Mine Sttn some nights and others is up every 4-5 hours for a feed. It sucks but it won't last forever :) by 12 weeks most baby will go at least 6-7 hours. Hang in there mamma xx

Just an update! He only slept through the night twice so far lol. But I did not wake him To feed those two times I just left him To sleep.

He is back To waking up once at around 3am for his night feed👍 He gets the boob so it's much easier And he goes right off To sleep after he is done.
