trying not to tell my MiL do get stuffed today. Here's the story and a little rant:
Last night my FiL called us and asked us about a £22 meal deal from our local takeaway he said it sounded good and ordered it for his family.
Today we go to visit my MiL as the house was empty and she was bored. A family friend turned up and so we all got chatting. My MiL mentioned that she'd put that order in last night and was saying that it's good for what you get who ate what etc. I told her that we order it every so often between me and my OH and put some in the fridge for a meal the next day to save cooking. She told me that between 2 of us, that's appaulling. Now here's what got me. She was telling me and the family friend about who had what, here's what you get in the order:

2 11" pizzas
1 garlic bread with cheese
2 large chips/fries
2 large kebabs
3 pieces of SF chicken
1 2ltr bottle of coke.

My MiL and FiL shared a large kebab and a pizza between them, they put the pizza in the fridge and ate the kebab. One of my BiL's is 22 and ate a pizza and a slice of garlic bread to himself.....this is fine. My 12 yr old BiL ate a whole LARGE kebab, 1 large chips AND garlic bread to himself then DEMANDED a grave stone sized slab of chocolate from the shop for dessert.
So in her eyes, it's ok for a 12 yr old boy to eat that much in 1 sitting, barely pausing to breathe yet it's not ok for 2 24 yr olds to order that meal, put some away over night and eat 1 thing each?

On another note, I'm currently FUMING at her tonight because I was planning on scanning in my scan pictures from the hospital to show everyone. We caught a good pic of LO's face in the last picture so I'm desperate to show you all. When it came to looking for the scanner's cable and driver disc, they're nowhere to be found. I put anything to do with the computer either on my desk or in a suitcase next to it so I can keep everything together. I checked all around my desk and rummaged through this case but they're nowhere to be found. The only person who has cleaned up around this area is my MiL who has a nasty habit of hiding things when cleaning and not telling us where she's put stuff. I've called her and she's said she can't remember where she put them and that it doesn't matter. Well no, it does matter. I've been planning on getting these pictures up on the pc for ages and yet again I can't because she can't help but be nosy and fussy around our house.

On another note.....sorry....one of my OH's friends has just called and woken LO up. Guess who's settling her down to go back to sleep when he's off the phone. She knows not to call at this time of night.

All in all I've had a pretty crappy day......granted not compared to most but still......it's put me in a bad mood. :(

:hugs: sorry you've had such a rubbish day :hugs:

Thanks, I just needed to get ALL of that off my chest. What made me giggle though is the family friend turned around and bit my MiL's head off about telling me and my OH that sharing that much food between us over 2 days is wrong. The family friend said "hang on, he's 12 and ate more than you 3 who are all adults yet you bollock these two for buying that much and making it last? YOU need your head checking woman!". I have to say this family friend is in the same line of thought when it comes to this boy and his mum though.

nosey over bearing people are so irritating. and it makes it even worse when you HAVE to be related to them. she would probably faint if she heard what i eat these days. who cares what she thinks? she probably had 2 pieces of cake last night!

does mil stand for misery in law? just wondered she sounds a bit too opinionated for me think i would have said something!!!
hope you get yr lo back to sleep soon x x

well my OH has JUST got off the phone, my LO was shouting her head off for the full phone call no matter what I did. He's now up shit creek without a paddle because from now on people are banned from turning up at our door between 7pm and 8.30pm and the phone gets unplugged between those times too. I'm so sick of his friends and family waking her up and having no thought for her. I've told him this and he says I'm over reacting and that if MY F+F did it I'd let it slide. My F+F were told ages ago to not call or visit between those times and so they don't. They know I'm trying to get my daughter sorted between those times yet my OH lets it slide for everyone he knows. If I have a go at him for it, it's fruitless so tonight I'm putting my foot down. If he doesn't like it, he's sleeping on the couch.

Sorry for the double post BUT no sooner had I posted about the ban on people coming round between 7pm and 8.30pm my MiL and youngest BiL turned up. LO was snoozing and they woke her up. As a result I've spent the last hour or so trying to get her back to sleep.......yet my OH still thinks it's ok for them to pop round unannounced whenever they feel like it. No idea why they turned up.
