well, i had a pretty rough night on the 16th with pains all through the night, the midwife came out in the morning to do my second sweep and found that i was 1-2cm dilated and she though my pulse and babies was too fast so she sent us into hospital,
the hospital checked me over and immediately started a drip of fluids and monitered me.
well the pains got worse with time and it was very slow progressing and i was still only 4cm when it came to 10pm in the evening on tuesday, they wouldnt give me an epidural because of risk of infection as they knew i was dehidrated and developed an infection, so i had pethedine and gas and air throughout.
by 3am i felt the urge to push and i was fully dilated, the midwife decided if the baby wasnt out by 4am then it would be a c-section for me as she was a little distressed and had pooh-ed in me.
well 3.59am and out she came, i had to have one stitch and had to go to theatre to get the placenter out as it wasnt budging!
soooo Alys Mae Hughes was born 3.59am wieghing 7lbs 2oz and 53cm long!
shes sooo beautiful and we both love her to bits.
unfortunately i had to spend a week in hospital as Alys wouldnt tolerate her feeds and her sodium levels dropped very low and she was admitted to SCBU special care baby unit for 48hours! it was very distressing to see her in an incubator but she got better and is well and feeding great now!
