Am I carrying low or is something wrong?

Hello! I am 17 weeks pregnant with my first child and I am having a slight concern about my belly. My mom measures me with a tape measure every sunday around my belly, and I notice I am slowly dropping in numbers. (I was 35, than 34 1/2, now 34 inches) and I was wondering if my baby was dropping or if I was carrying low. I am going to my doctors tomorrow for my first 2nd trimester appointment, but I was still curious. Any ideas on what could be going on would be great.

Hiya

I carried really low all the way through my pregnancy, the midwives were convinced I would have baby a bit early but in the end I went over. Im sure its nothing to worry about at all. Hope your midwife appointment goes well xx
