Am I crazy or not producing enough hormones?

Okay, we were neither trying or preventing, as this would make our 4 child. I have 35 day cycles, and was expecting a period on June 2nd. About a week before I expected this period, I noticed I was peeing a lot more than usual, and that my breasts were tender and almost sore, but I brushed it off, figuring it was due to my upcoming period. Well, June 2nd came and went with no period. So I took a home pregnancy test. It came up negative. Oh well. I went on with my life, but then started noticing my breasts were starting to hurt by the water in the shower and that I was feeling sick to my stomach and was extra tired. Took another one about 3 days after the first, with another one - negative. Took another one the next morning with my morning pee, and it was also negative. Getting a bit fed up, I went and got a blood test done, thinking maybe I didn't have enough hormones for a urine test. The darned blood test also came back negative!! Now I really am not obsessing or scared or anything, so I don't see why my mind would be giving me false pregnancy symptoms. I am trying to ignore it, (have also had blood work to rule out any other problems.) but it's getting hard to ignore! I have 3 children already, and I KNOW what it feels like to be pregnant. The newest thing I'm feeling is a fullness or pressure in my lower abdomen, and also sometimes it feels like my cervix is prickly or tingling. Has anyone else had this problem, or have I lost my mind??

I didn't want to read and run, but I really can't offer any advice. That is so weird that all of the tests are negative bc like you said, you KNOW what it's like to be pg. Maybe this will be a weird case where the tests were wrong and you'll figure it out soon. GL!!! :)

It is weird!! I've been reading and reading about this, and there have been cases where women don't produce enough hormone to detect pregnancy until they're further along. My mother in law told me about her aunt, who stood in the doctor's office at 5 months pregnant, belly sticking out and all, and kept getting negative test results!! I'm fine with not being pregnant. I'll just try again if I'm not. But there is no other medical reason why I shouldn't be getting my period, and this really is making me feel crazy. I sure do hate having to wait until next month to see if AF comes! With my daughter, who was my last one so far, I was 12 weeks before I could test positive on a urine test, and I wasn't concerned enough to get a blood test, so I don't know how that would have played out!

I feel for you :( Well, considering with your DD it took a long time to get a bfp, then maybe it's a similar situation here. I don't want to offer false hope, but considering you've played the pregnant game many times, I would trust your judgments for the time being. Keep testing and see if something pops up late. Keep me posted!!

Honestly, I did get way too excited at first. About 2 days after the blood test, I kept thinking, "Oh no! What if AF comes???" But then finally, I decided that if it comes then I can start trying again, and if it doesn't, I am probably pregnant. There's no sense in trying to force a BFP. You either are or you're not, and no amount of worrying or stressing can change that, right? I will keep you posted!!

You are totally right! And both results are pretty much good things. You either have a LO in the oven or you get the chance to catch the egg again!! Keep up your good attitude :)

Thank you. So glad I was able to get my good attitude back. I went kinda psycho there for a minute. lol

Haha, girl we're allowed to go a bit crazy every now and then. It's our right. Haha.

Well, still no AF. I still have breast tenderness, frequent urination, mood swings, and fatigue. I do have some cramping going on, which makes me think AF might be coming. Surely this could not be implantation, right? I have noticed no spotting or anything yet. I am now 18 days late.

Dang girl! Well maybe that cramping could be a pg sign, I've heard of that. It is so crazy that tests aren't showing up. At what point are you going to call the doc again?

I tell ya, the longer this goes on, the crazier I feel! I think I still ovulated after my missed period, so now, I just don't know what these symptoms are. They could be pregnancy symptoms, or ovulation, or pms.....I'm just going to wait and see if I get AF on or before the first of July. If not, I will retest, and then go to the doctor. I already know I don't have anything else medically wrong with me such as thyroid or anything.

How frustrating! Hopefully you will get some answers, one way or the other.

:hissy:Today makes 19 days late, same old symptoms, with my nipples feeling a little more sore than normal. This morning before my shower, I noticed more bumps that had white on them. I had said I was swearing off htps until the 1st, but I'm caving. Gonna pick one up tomorrow and see what it says. Grrrrr....:hissy:

Go ahead and cave! After 19 days you've earned it. Let me know how it goes!!:dust:

I did it! Of course it was negative. I wasn't really expecting a positive at this point. Have had mild cramping since about 2 o'clock this afternoon. I expect it's probably AF. I don't want AF. I want to be pregnant. But if I'm not pregnant, then I would at least like to see AF so I can get back in business!

And also wanted to say thank you, txrangersfan, for being here with me! I really appreciate not being alone in all this.

Today is 21 days late (CD 56). Yesterday while grocery shopping, I started cramping. I was positive AF was impending. Kept checking throughout the day, but no AF. I am new to charting, but from what I can tell, this is my fertile week. I have had pain in my ovary area for a few days also. How do people pinpoint the exact day they ovulate? I can only seem to narrow it down to a few days, and sometimes a whole week. So, the cramping could be AF, ovulation, implantation, or even cysts.... A little over a week and I can call the doctor again! Cannot wait! :sad1:

I'm so sorry hun :( I can't even imagine how frustrated you are. I hope that it's O so you can get back in the game. Are you going to try an opk to check your levels?

I am happy to be here and listen :hugs: It is no fun to go through this alone.

I am seriously beginning to consider opk's. Not having that last AF really screwed my tracking up. I think I probably just didn't ovulate before the missed one, but now I really am not sure when and if I have or will this month. When I got the results from the negative blood test, she said based on my symptoms that it was likely I was ovulating then. So I came home and told DH. We bd'd four nights in a row, and then have been doing every other night since then. I don't know if I ovulated that week, but it seems like I did over the last few days.

Yesterday I had the cramping. Last night I went to change into my pj's, and noticed the tips of my nipples were white, but there was no discharge. Now this morning, my uterus and cervix feel "pinchy," I feel bloated, the area above my pubic bone is getting hard and it itches all the way across my lower abdomen.

I don't ever remember having any of these symptoms, pregnant or not, and have no clue what they may or may not mean. But now I'm wondering if I wasn't pregnant before if I could be now! Ugh, maybe I should've just held off and waited for AF!! Darned psychotic episodes! lol

Haha. Girl you are just a big ball of symptoms. It does sound like it could be O again. Maybe your body tried to before, wasn't successful, and is again. Or it could be pg and the test just didn't pick it up b/c O signs and pg signs can be similar. I say start opks, wait a few days, then take an hpt if no AF or no + opk.
