I finished work on maternity leave in 2010 taking 12 months off, I then took a career break for a further 12 months and never returned to work as there was a restructure and I took voluntary redundancy.

I remember a friend telling me that when she returned to work after maternity leave she paid next to nothing tax and my nan seems to think I will be entitled to a rebate for some reason!

Does anybody know if this is with looking into asi don't have a clue

Thanks x

not sure... any extra tax i paid on mat leave i got back on my final wage packet of tax year...!

Depends when in the tax year you began your maternity leave. I managed to get a £700 rebate xx

My mat leave began in January 2010.

Will I get the number from the government website? X

You will yes. If you started Mat Leave in the Jan i'd have thought it unlikely you get a rebate but worth a try  even if its not much its better off in your pocket than theirs! xx
