It might be. Remember, baby is practicing breathing at a faster pace than a full-grown adult breathes. Those little lungs are wee dinky things yet so the rate of practice breathes is much faster (much like the hb is elevated too).
Sounds very much like hiccups. They are really rapid. I had no idea what it was the first few times it happened in my first pregnancy and asked my midwife. She confirmed it was hiccups. They seemed far too quick! This little one gets hiccups all the time and my husband has been able to feel them by placing his hand low on my bump. Some days she gets them constantly!
