Everyone I spoke to earlier asked my when im due, complete strangers. I told them I have just under 12 weeks left and they all shook their head and asked if I was carrying twins? One even saying "OMG your huge! Are you sure its only a baby in there?"

It upsets me as I think im not normal. I dont have any pics on here of my bump, I will try and get one up tomorrow. It is quite big I know, I am measuring two weeks ahead with MW but she said thats fine.

My little one weighed 2lb 6oz on my 4d scan just over a week ago and I was told she was "slightly" above average, but all is ok.

Do you think they may just have my dates slightly out???

I just want to be "normal" whatever "normal" is

Don't worry hun chances are your just carrying more water than some. Baby sounds fine at 28 weeks my little one was weighing about 3lbs and thats the top end of the percentile but its still within normal so don't worry.

Plus how rude of them!

I knw, some people think its fine to bad mouth pregnant women. Dont they realise how much more hormonal we can be :(

I honestly wouldn't take too much notice. I look different sizes depending on what i wear and have had the extremes of 'you're big aren't you' and 'you're very compact aren't you' within the space of an hour. If the MW / doc is happy then forget the know-it-alls. X:hugs:

I know its so rude you wouldn't go up to anyone and just comment of their weight but yet because we are pregnant people think its okay drives me crazy especially when they think its okay to touch my bump too. Grrr angry pregnant woman haha!

I get that all the time! People think we just love to be told how enormous we look! Tell them THEY look huge!

haha, yes next time I will just respond with "yes im huge, I will be losing this in 12 weeks, your ugly how you going to change that?"

:haha:

I've been getting the same too - my fh has been 2 weeks ahead since they started measuring that.

I think people just say ANYTHING cliche whether it's that your bump is big or small, that the sleeplessness is preparing you for when the baby arrives, that you won't know what's hit you etc etc - notice how it's always the same - almost word for word - ignore them :)

Actually you got a fair point there!

it is rude and stupid to ask if you are sure there only one, as if you didnt ask the sonograohy or where told how many you where having! duh!

Yeah, they are rude! I'm sure your bump is perfect...and you should feel confident enough to embrace it, so dont listen to them!

This is my first pregnancy and I've hardly got a bump (I'm a normal size uk 12/14 so not skinny) and people comment that I either 'dont look pregnant', 'must be carrying Bubba in my bum' (WTF?!) or 'you must have a very small baby'

IDIOTS!

I know, I think people just have nothing better to say.

Why cant people come up to me and say, god your looking great, your hair is very shiny, your skin in stunning, where did you buy your makeup from???

.... this is prob due to the fact my hair is lank and always greasy, im full of spots and can never be bothered to put any makeup on now haha

Aggghhh that drives me nuts! Sleepless nights, don't what you've got coming......hello can't you see I've got a tantrum two year old in tow, I do know!!!!!!! And when they think they can rub/pat/touch your bump!!! Come on, seriously would you be happy if i started to rub your spare tyre!! :grr:

Don't let it get to you hun :hugs:

I had similar comments at the start of 3rd tri and measured big all the way thro yet my LO was still 15days late. You'll be fine.

xxx

people suck. I just got the other day: "oh you are carrying a girl? That makes sense, you are carrying all over." WTF?! Everyone else says I'm all baby in front....ok then. I bet your bump is beautiful and perfect for you. Usually those talking out their ass are men or women that don't know/remember what it is like to be pregnant. :hugs:

If you were truly BIG then the doctors would be concerned! Like they were with me.....I gave birth 3 weeks early to a 10LB baby boy 6 years ago!!!!!
I wouldnt worry too much....just say 'at least in 12 weeks I will have a baby to show for my bump.......what will you have to show for yours!!!!!' lol

It's really annoying me as well. This week I said to someone you look well and they replied you look fat. Then as I was leaving he said bye fatso! Not happy. Is it suddenly OK for people to behave like this? I bite my tongue because I don't want to sound upset even though I am.

ppl r saying the same to me saying i look like am having twins and i no i dont...and its the same ppl at work but yes i am getting bigger am 7 months duh...i know this is horrible but i truly felt this lady keep repeating this to be nasty to me so i said the truth
work coll: 'You look huge sure ur not having twins!?'
me:' well you always looked like you were having twins but wats ur excuse?'
The moral is she has had nothing to say ever since...
she caught me on a bad day

I wouldn't worry too much Hun. I few weeks back, I was chatting to another preggo lady in a shop. She asked me how far I had to go, and couldn't believe it when I said that I had12 weeks left. She had 4 weeks and her bump wad about half the size of mine.

I am measuring about 2 weeks ahead, my mw doesn't seem worried, so I'm not going to worry either.

I'm sure your bump is just fine :flower:
