I know that, but it's like I don't want to disappoint them. And especially since my coworker just went on maternity leave and it was a process of finding coverage for her. And I already run a department of the clinic by myself. I have more of a workload than anyone. Just stressful in general.Don't be afraid! They cannot fire you just because of your pregnancy. But definitely take as much time as you need.
Oh, man. I told them early, and its a good thing I did because my symptoms were rough. No way to hide them. You're fortunate if it hasn't shown. You should probably think about telling them at this point. Some people wait until the second trimester, so you can explain that you just wanted to be sure everything went well for medical reasons. It may get awkward if you don't and the baby makes it's entrance.
Besides, Mass traffic is rough. I'm originally Billerica, and them calling an ambulance when the time comes may be a better bet than driving yourself through that. Lol.
Lol absolutely. I just need to put on my big girl pants on. Lol. So nervous. Feels like I am telling my parents. Especially since I am the youngest in the office.Well, my personal approach was a state of shock in which I sat in front of my boss with a very serious face and said, "Uhhh. .. So. ..it turns out. . I'm pregnant?". I was scared because we just launched a new location together, and here I was needing maternity leave nearly a year after we opened! I was very surprised to see her throw her hands up and scream, "I'm going to be an Aunty!?!?!?".
Either way, it has to be done and it'll come out eventually. If it were me, I'd rather not give people the impression that I was trying to hide it. Not only that, but think from their end- by delaying it you are also delaying their efforts of finding coverage and getting their own gameplan together for your leave.
I say just go for it! They can't fire you, so what's the worst that can happen? Besides, if they are stupid enough to fire you, then consider that a big fat paycheck a lawyer will hand you ;-)
