Amelia and Emily - too close?

I really love the name Emily-Grace for a girl, but my daughter is Amelia-Rose, my mum says Emily and Amelia are too similar as they can both be shortened to Millie.. I'm not too sure though, thoughts? X

In their longer forms I don't think they're too close, but if you ever shorten Amelia to Millie or think you might in the future then I definitely think Millie and Emily are too close.

I agree with this

I don't think they're too close. I think they sound nice together!

I agree with a pp the longer versions of the name do not sound close but if you go by those nicknames than they do. It just depends on what you like and are comfortable with <3

Our first boy';s name starts with an N, and if we have another boy his name will also start with an N, albeit a different sounding name. I hated the idea at first, didn't want it to seem like it was on purpose but it's the name we both really love! And at the end of the day that is what matters imo xxx

I think even shortened, Millie and Emmie would be super cute! I don't think they're too similar. I also wouldn't associate nn millie with Emily though.

I think they are both nice names, but I do agree with your mom. They are variations of the same name.

I think they are a bit too close in the way they sound to be used as siblings... You chose the nicknames though, so I don't see that part as a huge issue.
