Oooh, Romney is winning KY and IN.

High population states, lol.

i don't think Romney even knows what he stands for. i could never vote for a person who has shown so many sides i have no idea which side he'll be in office.

but maybe thats just me.

I'd rather have that than a president that has proven he wants to turn this country into a socialist nation and take away all of our freedoms.

I think a lot of women and homosexuals would argue that Romney is the one trying to take away freedom.

Seriously. It baffles me. I mean, I can kind of understand why some people may have an issue with some of Obama's policies but how could Romney ever be the lesser of two evils? The only people who will truly benefit from having Romney as president are white, privileged men with no social conscience, IMO.

In the UK, you don't vote for the Prime Minister, right? How do you feel about having a monarchy in which you have no say in leadership? Or do you?

The monarchy is virtually powerless in the U.K, we vote!

No, you don't have to vote. I can see the benefits of compulsory voting because I hate apathy and wasted votes but it doesn't sit right with me in terms of personal freedom!

I hate the excuse of, "I don't vote, it doesn't make a difference". Ummmmm.....

Also, "I don't like any of the candidates, so I'm not going to vote". Okay, then keep your mouth shut and don't bitch about the results!!!! :gun:

Basically he says that he isn't going to allow china to get over on Americans anymore by imitating our stuff. It doesn't mean we will go to war. Romeny does not want to take away womens rights. You guys are taking what a few ******** republicans have said and saying that it's Romney and it's not.

This might be a really stupid question, but do you have the option to vote for any party other than Democrat/Republican?

My knowledge of how American politics are set up left me a long time ago. :haha:

Yes, but if they did it would basically hand the election to one of those parties. I. E. Romney and Obamarama are neck and neck, but if you dispersed romney's votes only, Obama would win hands down. And vice versa. So basically, unless everyone in the US decided to scatter their votes it would actually help the two "big evils"

There are about 8 different party options. I'd list them but my keyboard is all screwed up and frankly, pissing me off, lol.

yup there are other parties. The Constitution. Also a bunch of independent ones.

Roseanne Barr was trying to run for president in one of those parties but was trumped by somebody else. Green party....?

We vote for the prime minister but not the queen. The queen or king use to have powers but not really nowadays, not that I disregard what the royal family do for the country. Plus the queen has loads of experience so I'm sure that helps prime ministers.

I not voted before, well actually I spoiled my ballot card. I just didn't agree with the policies of the leaders. And my local people weren't great either. I don't think that makes me have less of a right to an opinion, I did my research, I decided what i wanted to do and i still went down there and spoiled the card so that I wasn't lumped in with the people who can't be bothered category.

Watching election night noe

Projected Obama to take Vermont (3 EC votes) and Romney in KY (8 votes)

ah i need to shower because LO is sleeping but i don't want to stop watchingggg!

When I say my local people weren't great, I mean the mp we had was dubbed mr and mrs expenses (they were really ripping the system of expenses they can claim and they were both mp's) and the others didn't have good policies.
