Could they (both or one of your mums) come along and let you have a couple of minutes alone at the scan before they enter the room?? might be worth ringing and finding out ... just to keep the peace :S

I can see your OH's point on him being p*ssed off your mum was there because it is a special time for both of you and your mum should understand this and back down herself, and as for going behind your back she shouldnt of done that at all.

I had a scan at 6 weeks due to bleeding and my mum was there along with my OH and he was ok with that because it was a hard time but after that he did say i dont want your mum at any other scans now this is our time so i had to respect his wishes.
