So I know it's a bit late but my miracle baby boy was born 2.54am on Saturday 21st July 2012 weighing a lovely 8lb 6oz! We have called him Rowan Freddie.

He was three days early and I never considered he would be so it was a shock!

So at 2am on Friday morning I started getting what were like period pains every 40 mins and by 7am it was down to every 20 mins I just thought it was Braxton hicks! I sent dh to work not mentioning it as I knew he would panic and left it at that I then called him at 8am to tell him to keep phone handy just incase still believing it was Braxton hicks! By 10 am they were every 10 mins I rang my mum and she tried to convince me I was in actual labour! At this point my health clinic rang to say my tens machine was in and I drove to health centre to collect as I really wanted to use it when I could not tolerate it anymore!
Mum brought lunch over and I spent time sorting washing and cleaning the fridge out to take my mind off it by 3pm I was every five mins and struggling badly with the pain so led in the bath for nearly two hours!
I rang the hospital at five and as I was every four mins they asked me to wait until I'd had every three mins for 40mins sure enough I put the phone down that's what happened and at 7pm I called again in tears and they finally said come in! We arrived at 7.30 but as it was shift change we waited 45 mind to be seen and my god I was struggling good news was when checked I was already 5cm I was so proud for getting that far on my own!

I was transferred to a delivery suite and requested pethodine sure enough I was given that pretty quickly a few hours later when I got to 8/9cm I req a epidural but labour ward was crazy emergency buzzers off everywhere and so when midwife went to put cannula in me I told her not to as I knew a ansthatist would not be avaliable so I was given more pethadine.
The pressure became unbelievable I kept running to the loo as I was scared what would come out at pushing stage lol and my waters went over the loo very convenient!

Then I was checked fully dilated and ready to push that was at 1.45 am. I pushed for a hour until rowans heartrate started to drop rapidly and my emergency buzzer was pressed they called a doc in to do a episiotomy and I took one look at him thought no chance and manged with one almighty push to get the head out! The dic said hmmm don't think I'm needed and walked out lol!
Then with one last big push at 2.54 am my beautiful boy was born!

I was so lucky after everything I went through to get him that he arrived with no warning and in the grand scheme of things in a pretty straight forward manner apart from a 2nd degree tear I survived!

I look at him all the time and still can't believe my baby is here and I'm finally a mummy after four years of stress tears and treatments I have my beautiful forever baby xxx
