Hi guys

Wow, this is my first post here, however I have been lurking in the background for a while.lol.

Me and the oh are in our 2nd month of ttc, last month I don't think we got the times just right..so I have invested in a clearblue digital ovulation kit for this month..

Anyways.....

Have you already thought of the way you will be announcing to your oh or family?

I think I have watched every YouTube clip on pregnancy announcements to get some ideas and i think i have a few lined up....and I would really love to capture the moment on video I tell my oh....

So possibilities for me so far.....

Playing the game where he has to put the headphones and guess what you are saying (we play it all the time so I don't think he would be suspicious)

If we get lucky this month....telling him a valentines pressie has just been delivered after a delay and having it as a baby grow or bottle e.g.

Putting a bun in the oven and asking him to go and check on the food in the oven.

So guys...have you thought about how you would announce yours to your oh or family?

With DD I thought about it obsessively! Haha! I waited about a week after I found out I was pregnant because my dad had a heart attack and went to the hospital. Right before his surgery, my husband and I have him a present in front of the rest of my family. It had a onsie inside that said "Worth the Wait". My mom and sister understood first, my dad was slow in the uptake. It was such a sweet moment. My mom cried. My husband already knew. It wasn't a big reveal for him because we had been trying and so he wasn't surprised when I just told him over the phone lol! But the family was awesome.

We're now trying for #2 and I have no idea how to reveal it when we finally get pregnant again. We now live out of state from the rest of my family so it will have to happen over Skype. I don't want to do the whole "big sister" shirt or anything...I'm not sure. Maybe that's they best way? I don't know.

I like the idea of something simple and sweet like the present with a baby item inside.

Good luck! It's such a special moment. Especially if you are having the first one! For me, our daughter is the first grandkid on my side of the family so it was a big deal.

I've seen some with the headphones and I think it's cute! There's that dental dam game out now (Speak Out) and I think it's hilarious but my DH isn't so thrilled so maybe I'll just make him play a game with me and sneakily record it. The other part of me thinks that he will just know before I can figure out a way to tell him or I'll be too impatient to hide it for long enough to put something together!
I'd love to have a Valentine's Day surprise but that will be too early... then again I'd been hoping for a Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas surprise too but those all flopped! Oh well, when the time comes I think I'll just burst :)

If I get lucky this cycle I will be finding out right around Valentine's Day. If that happens, if I can get a positive on a digi, I would wrap it like a present and leave it by the coffee maker for him to find in the morning. When he gets up I would go lurk in the doorway while he opened it. <3

I have a little baby shirt I bought from John Lewis a few months ago on major sale that says "let the adventure begin" or something along those lines - I think I'd leave it lying around somewhere and see how long until he notices!

With our 4yo dd we decided to tell our family over brunch. It isn't uncommon we all have meals together so no one suspected a thing. We went to Home Depot and picked up two free paint swatches, one in pastel pink and one in pastel blue. At brunch we told the family we were going to paint our spare room that weekend and when they asked what color we said "we were hoping you could help us decide between these two colors" then I held the paint swatches up...they all had a confused look and it didn't hit them for a few minutes why we would pick those two colors to choose from then it finally hit them and we all celebrated :)

i love the checking on the bun in the oven idea! wish i thought of it to tell the hubby. i just blurted it out when we were walking in the parking lot because i couldn't contain myself haha

Stellababy - I was the same !

With both my babies , I just blurted it out to hubby even though I had plans of better things to do .

What I was going to do was say to hubby ' would you like to see what dd and I have been up to today ?? And show him pics on my phone if her playing and whatever we had been doing and just flick through naturally and then have a pic of a positive pregnancy test and just flick through naturally and let his briain catch up with what I actually just showed him :) . Thought it would have been quite cool.

But no- I said it before I even realised I said it - in the hallway ! Lol

It's hard to keep it inside! Your idea sounds really fun.

Also I am not doing any Facebook announcement , but I love to see how people are doing it in fun ways. I am planning to post baby's photo after the birth

Ive been getting some ideas from Pinterest!!! I'm obsessed with Pinterest anyway ha! I have 2 children so I'd like to involve them in some way. I thought I could write something in sand or I really like the idea of getting them books which say "new baby" and "I'm going to be a sister" and take a photo of them reading them. I might take them to the grandparents house and ask them to get Nana to read the book with them and see if she gets it! With the others we gave them an envelope with the pregnancy positive pregnancy test inside.

I still don't know how to announce it to hubby though yet. So I'm keeping an eye out for ideas!
