Right, for all mummies out there who feed their baby Aptimal- do you ever find that some days they poo a lot more frequently than normal and it is a bit runnier, and then most other days it is only 1-2 times a day?

My LO normally only goes 1-2 times a day, and sometimes the consistency is a bit runnier. But today he has been 6 times  The last two times were not that much, just a little bit, but it seems to be with every feed almost  It is runnier than normal and a bit mucusy (but he has been drooling lots and could be teething, but I have no idea), but it smells the same and is the same colour as usual. I spoke to my HV and she didn't seem to think it was diarrohea and wasn't concerned, but I know he normally doesnt go this much and it is worrying me.

He is very happy in himself and has no temperature or anything else but I am still concerned- has anyone had this? Did it coincide with teething? And does teething make them poo more frequently, or just runnier?

He has had this once before but it was very early on when I had just started him on Aptimal so put it down to that.

Will give him some water inbetween feeds but I am concerned that will put him off his main feeds.

ARGH- can anyone reassure a fretting mummy? Will take him to the Docs tomorrow if it is the same in the morning.

Izzy was on Aptimil for a while, and she never had any runny poos.

I think it could easily be teething, runny nappies are a sign for sure.

Izzy was having very bad nappies 5 or 6 times a day when she has gastroenteritis - but she was very poorly and wasn't drinking either.

Thanks for replying. I have made a Docs appt for this afternoon. He didn't poo when I fed him overnight but he did at some point after his 6am feed, and then again when I fed him at 10am. Again he is full of beans and smiles so I can't see it being a stomach bug, but I don't understand why he is going so frequently.

Oh well, hopefully the Doc will be able to do something and reassure me, not just send me away after doing nothing like they usually do!

Douglas has been on aptamil for a while now, he usually has one or 2 poos a day but on the odd occasion he can have more (we had 5 in one day over Christmas). Like you I was a bit concerned but he was his usual happy self and having plenty of wet nappies too so I wasn't worried he was dehydrated. It went back to normal within a day. I'm sure your LO is fine, good luck at the Doc. :hugs:

Sid is on Aptimal and he poos during every feed.. i didn't realise that was a problem??!! I put him on bottles about 2 weeks ago and it has been like this the whole time...

Hi hun- that is ok then, if that is his norm, it's just my LO only used to go once/twice a day, and now suddenly it has changed, so I was worrying why. I don't think it is diahorrea though so I am trying to relax about it... he has been 4 times today, which is less than yesterday! Don't worry, if your LO has been like this all along then that's fine :flower:

Ok thanks, will stop worrying!! lol

Hope your lo is back to normal soon xxx
