so ds2 is 4 weeks old tomorrow.
at birth he was breast fed, and he filled his nappy at every feed. at 18 hours old i changed to Formula as i had blisters on my nipples. I used Cow and Gate to start with and it was great, he pood at every feed. But then he got constipated on the 15th and didn't poo until the 16th at midnight which was solid. So i put him onto Aptamil comfort... he was still constipated for a day or two but then he passed anormal poo so i thought woohoo. Then in the early hours of the 18th he started with diarrhea, I thought ok this might just be his tummy getting used to the milk and he Health visitor who came out on the 18th & 21st said he hadnt been on it long enough to say if its that or not. On the 22nd i called the doc out as he was having some other issues and she said he was fine but to try him with another milk as the aptamil was not agreeing with him. So off i went and bought SMA (the only milk left to try that any local shops sell) and he had 2 poos which were starting to become more solid. But then on the 24th he went back to being constipated Since then he is acting constipated but when he finally does manage to go its very watery.
Other things he has aswell - he gets the hiccups after every feed
- for the last 5 days he has had periods of crying for no apparent reason which is strange as he doesnt normally cry unless were not quick enough with the bottle. This includes during sleeping which sometimes he wakes up and others he cries then goes back to sleep.
- he pulls his legs up when trying to poo and has to put a lot of effort into it
- he passes wind A LOT and again seems to struggle to do so
- he seems to be very unsettled between feeds and needs to be held a lot to soothe him
- He grunts a lot on his sleep
- Sometimes when he is feeding it sounds like he is chocking
- For the last 4 days he has sometimes struggled to latch onto his bottles or dummy, he cant seem to get his tongue into the right position which means he just keeps pushing it straight back out again.
any advice please.. im going to take him to the doctors but just wanted to know if any of you have any help/advice. xx
