I posted in a fury about my uncomfortable night last night, and here I find myself once again!

SO, I went to see my nurse today for my yeast infection, and she suggested to try this medication. She wrote down the name and told me where to find it. It was in a little box and came with 2 packages that each had two full applicators inside- plus an extra tube of "relief cream". So here I am about an hour ago, awkwardly sitting on the toilet holding what looked like this oversized tampon applicator ready to pretty much inject this cream into myself. On the box it says to lay down directly afterwards so no leakage happen. So, I insert the cream and rush back to my room as fast as my waddley pregnant legs will carry me, and lay down. Only moments later I get this awful, excruciating burning down there. I screamed it hurt so bad! I rushed to the bathroom (this time a bit faster than I thought I could even move at this point!) and sat down to pee. The burning just got worse as I peed, and once I was done I wiped and immediately applied a cool, wet washcloth. NOPE, didn't help one bit! Then I realized that the cream was (TMI) coming out of me- like leaking, and the more it leaked the more it burned the sensitive skin down there. Well, it was coming out now so there's nothing I can do about it! It just hurt so bad and there I was sitting on the toilet just waiting (pushing, to be honest. haha ew, I know) for all of this nasty stuff to be out of me! As soon as it all seemed to be out and I wiped myself off, I went downstairs to get a bag of ice.. and now I'm laying in bed icing my lady parts . NOT the night I was hoping for! Especially not after a stressful, long day.

On top of that, OH is being really awkward about the whole yeast infection thing, (we both have one). I offered to bring him by a little care package with topical cream and some home remedy ideas. He stuttered and said "uh...yeah..sure.. I mean I'm fine..but yeah if you want." IF I WANT!? HE was the one who was first complaining about his red itchy business and all I was trying to do was help! Now I feel bad again, and honestly quite awkward myself... Sheesh. I've called him twice now to say goodnight (it's our routine on the nights we don't stay together) but he isn't answering. I feel so irked! :growlmad:

Sorry for another rant ladies, but thanks for reading. xx :hugs:

your hubby needs the cream too or he will pass it back to you when ur done..

btw i burn when i use some yeast creams..you may need the lower dose ones....like the 7 day not the 2 day...its more sensative and you need to use it before bed so it doesnt leak out

feel better

also both add probiotic or yogurt to your diet as it helps keep it away...

I didn't think pregnant women were allowed to use the internal cream for yeast infections. I was told not to because of the side effects it can have. So I was only given an external cream.

I would definietly make sure he treats it, because if he doesn't it will either get a lot worse or he may thinki it's gone because the symptoms have disappeared, but he may actually still have it and transfer it back to you. Unfortunately being women, we get hit worse with these sort of things and sometimes the mean have no symptoms at all, but still carry it.

Oh god, sorry you had that awful eperience.
But yea your OH definately needs to get treated for it or youll both continue to pass it back and forth. Im sure hes just uncomfortable talking about it.

OH also has cream that he is treating it with every night that he got from his doc

Also, my nurse told me that it was safe to use the internal medication, but I'm just going to treat it with home remedies and the topical cream- both things that lots of women in my life swear by. My nurse didn't like that, said it was a little bit too "alternative" for her to be comfortable with but honestly, I don't really care. I come from what most people would classify a "hippie" family, and have multiple women who went through pregnancies not going to the doctor who have gorgeous, healthy kiddos. So I feel fine and on track :)

honestly I been dealing with yeast because of another problem I have for years now...and have tried it allllllll...

the only thing that really gets it all away is the medication...the others can help symptoms but not get the balance back to where its supposed to be so you ust keep getting it back again.....

i wouldnt play around whilst pregnant...a yeast infection if bad enough can make you have contraction which can lead to m/c or preterm labor...

so while I commend the "hippie" way I would go with the medication made for it....maybe use the hippie stuff to take the symptoms away..

anyway its jmo

feel better hun

i was sent to labor and delivery cuz i was leaking a lot of clear fluid, turned out to be a yeast infection...which is weird bc i've had them before (a lot of them when i was on the pill..my body did not like the pill lol hence the baby..) and its never presented like that..but oh well...the dr gave me the internal suppositories 3 day treatment...i guess its worked but i still had some itching today if it doesnt get better i'll have to go back i guess

but the suppositories never burned..and didnt really leak too badly either i put them in before bed i didnt wake up with anything crazy leaking down there...

i have used monistat and vagisil for previous yeast infections...the vagisil external cream BURNS like a mother you-know-what and like u said peeing or wiping it only makes it worse...i usually just wait it out...it usually burns so bad bc the skin down there is so raw from rubbing/itching it.

i'd go and see if your doctor will give u the perscription suppositories they have been the easiest so far!

good luck

vagisil burns me too...that I do think im allergic too as for the burning of the yeast meds usually just means you need the lighter dose that is for more days....and that is what I do....as the higher dose make me burn so bad I cry and all i can say is owe owe as I hop around doing a dance...LOL

I've been to the doc's and had my midwives check it out who both confirmed it was very mild and probably didn't require strong medical treatment. They said that the infection wasn't really on the inside anymore and it was just affecting the labia at this point- so using home remedies would probably be fine. Both suggested to use the home remedies for a week and if the symptoms don't go away completely I should come back in, but other then that I should be fine. I trust them both :)

Thanks!
