I went for my anatomy scan at 18 weeks and my placenta was anterior and low lying so my doctor wanted a rescan at 22 weeks which I had last Wednesday and they found that part of my placenta is anterior, part is posterior and there is an accessory lobe connecting the two lobes going right over my cervix as well as blood vessels... so I am extremely concerned about vasa previa. Another concern that I have is that in my report it says that the umbilical cord isnt defined upon the placenta... which could also point to vasa previa since a risk factor is velamentous cord insertion. I am extremely scared and have pretty much convinced myself that I have vasa previa and I'm terrified my baby will die :( my next appointment is still 8 days away and I don't feel like I can wait without going crazy.
