Antibiotics question

Hi ladies, does anyone know if antibiotics can interfere with fertility/ ovulation?

I was prescribed them but the doc didn't know if it would impact on my IUI treatment (great!) so I've started taking them. I don't have clomid again for 2wks when we embark on IUI no2 by which time the course of antibiotics are finished so I'm hoping it Wont be an issue.

Anyone know?

As far as I know certain antibiotics are bad for pregnant women but I think they're fine at other times. Can't they give you one that's safe for pregnant women just incase? I had a uti during the 2ww once and that's what they did for me. And better safe then sorry, you should ask your FS.

I know a few women that were on BC, took antibiotics and fell pregnant (counteracts BC).

You should be okay but if you are unsure, you could call your Fertility Clinic and ask them.

Thanks ladies, i called today and the nurse said its ok! My clomid doesn't start for 2 weeks yet so its no prob.

So now you know for future reference!

I hope they're okay. I am in my TWW and currently on Amoxicillin.

I'm the same TTc bean, in 2ww whilst on them.

The nurse reassured me so don't worry I'm sure it's ok xx
