Anxious - advice appreciated.

Hiya, first time posting on the first tri board!

I have 4 children, I had a m/c in Nov 17, and a scar ectopic pregnancy in jan this year.


So I’m 4+3 today and I went to see my dr. The test she used was a pasante medicheck test, I have no idea of the miu but it looked negative and then came up with a faint line, I took a urine sample with me it’d been in the pot for 1.5 hours and had turned completely cloudy! she reassured me I’m early, but I told her I am now convinced I have an impending miscarriage coming my way, I asked her if I could have another test to do myself at home, she gave me one but it was a different brand as she’d ran out of the pasante ones, she told me use it tomorrow with FMU. I’d not drank or urinated for appx 2 hours, I picked up some FRER on the way home too. Came home and did both tests, FRER is darker than the control line now, and the white test came up with a better line than the blue test used in the doctors, so now I’m a bit more relieved, but also am anxious mess!

After my twin scar ectopic in Jan, the consultant requested when I was pregnant again I was to have an early scan. The dr phoned the EPU and the receptionist told her she wouldn’t give me an appt unless I have pain or bleeding, my dr explained it was requested by the consultant but she wouldn’t have any of it. So my dr told me not to worry she is going to contact my consultant directly instead and will get back to me! I know they won’t see anything in the form of a hb yet, but I just want to check the sac is in the right place this time! I had a nightmare last night I miscarried and was in such a state that I decided to visit the Drs today.

I don't have any advice but I did want to say congratulations! It's hard not to worry, especially after what you've been through, but I do hope you are able to get the reassurance you need soon so that you can start enjoying your pregnancy.

Sorry I don’t have any advice, didn’t want to read and run. Congratulations! I don’t think doctors tests are as sensitive as home pregnancy tests, I could be wrong but that’s what I was told. I think it’s very normal to be anxious but try not to worry. I hope you get your early scan. I’m panicking after an early scan showed I’m 6 weeks when my last period was 8 weeks ago. There was a heartbeat and a sac and all going how it should be for a 6 week pregnancy but I’m terrified it’s stopped growing. I have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks to check it’s growing and I’m beside myself with worry. So i know it’s easier said than done not to worry x

I googled the blue test and apparently they’re 25miu, I’m going with the urine sample had gone weird or they’re not very good tests, as them cheapie tests you get online say they’re 10miu but I think they’re not great either!

Still haven’t heard back from my dr yet.


Jamiesmummy was it your post I read briefly earlier? You’d had a scan and they put your dates back? But you don’t have a regular 28 cycles? Was that you? How long are your cycles? I’m sorry you are going through an anxious wait too, I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.

Still haven’t heard back from my dr yet.


Jamiesmummy was it your post I read briefly earlier? You’d had a scan and they put your dates back? But you don’t have a regular 28 cycles? Was that you? How long are your cycles? I’m sorry you are going through an anxious wait too, I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.

Yes possible the urine sample has gone weird like you say. I don’t rate the cheapies don’t think they are very good either.
Hope you hear back from your doctor soon. I think the EPU are being very unreasonable. Not sure if it’s the same where you are but where I am they have a direct number. I called them after I had been in A+E and the woman told me I wouldn’t be offered a scan as they only see people they are sure are miscarrying.... not sure if she was just trying to make me feel better. After the second seperate episode of light bleeding I was told to go in for a scan that was when I found out I have a huge cyst on my right ovary causing the pain. I think you just have to be firm with them. Hopefully your doctor can talk them round.

Yes that’s me. My cycles can vary last few months they have been between 31- 34 but some months can be longer like 5 weeks or over. The scan is accurate from time of conception but not when I had my last period of you see what I mean. Thanks it’s horrible the waiting and not knowing. My next scan is on the 21st September... still feels so long away xx

Hiya, if the scan is accurate from the time of conception, I presume you know when you ovulated and you’ve seen a heartbeat that is good news!

The hospital phoned me, my scan is also on 21st! Now to get through the whole week ahead! Hang on in there xx

I’m not exactly sure of the date I ovulated because we were’nt trying, we were having a break from trying but looking back at previous cycles and guessing from that I think it was the last weekend in July I ovulated definately wasn’t any later, could of been earlier than that.
I’m trying to keep that in mind that I have seen a heartbeat but still doesn’t ease the worry, don’t think it’s helped that I have googled it and a lot of people saying they had missed miscarriages when they have seen a heartbeat, having said that there seems to be others saying it’s very common for early scans to be miss measured because the fetus is so small.

Excellent, pleased you have a scan arranged. It’s so hard waiting, I’m driving myself crazy with worry, I’m trying to put it to the back of my mind but it’s so hard. Praying for a happy outcome for us both. Good luck and please let me know how your scan goes, thinking of you x

Hiya. All is looking great for you. The fact you are getting good lines on your tests means you are. You will obviously worry after what you have been through though. I Hated the first twelve weeks with both of mine. Just felt sick as a dog and worried for two months lol xx
