My dyson is driving me mad! Ever since last year when we got a new carpet its been static shocking me! As soon as I switch it on I can feel the tingle building up and know any second its going to.....ZZZAP! ARGH!!!! It's so annoying!
It's not the upright model, its the one that has a separate base and a bendy tube up to the bit that you hold (lol I don't know how to describe it so I've included a picture!)
Anyway, I know its caused by static build up as you rub it on the carpet but I'm thinking surely the designers have thought of a solution to this and I just need to have it on the right setting? Surely they can't sell a product that shocks the consumer every 2 minutes whilst using it??
Can anyone help me avoid the shocks?
