Any english girls doing a baby shower?? or at least wanting one

I know there an american custom. but i was wondering if any uk girls where planning or wanting or have had a baby shower. i noticed most of the party shops stock things for them now...looks like fun

A girl i work with, her sister had a baby about 3-4 weeks ago. A couple of months ago at work, we were talking about it, and we were talking about babies and got on the topic of baby showers.

I'd never known anyone who'd ever had a baby shower before. But everyone at work was like, "Oh yeah, everyone has babyshowers!" And another boy i worked with went to a babyshower not long ago, and was telling me all about it and all about the games. He was saying he was getting annoyed cause in teams they had to guess what was in the babyfood, and no one would listen to him but he was always right

Whenever i suggest it to my mum she's just like, "We dont do babyshowers in this country!" But im pretty sure i want one now

My Sister and my housemate want to throw a suprise one for me.....im quite coseying up to the idea. I deciding whether to tell my friends at the shower the sex or not tell them till its born.

I personally would tell them before the shower so i could get lots of pink/blue pressies!

Have you decided your nursery theme yet?? (sorry i know this is random but tbh who cares)
Im wondering weather to go for a gender related theme or a space/sci fi one. Me and FOB are both total geeks...well he is i just love doctor who. Whats your thoughts??

There's no way we could afford to shop there for our LO.

I've not put much thought into my nursery at all. If its a boy we'll probably go jungle. If its a girl we may just go neutural colours with some wall stickers like this:

I'm not sure yet as im not totally sure where we'll be living when LO arrives.

I'm not having one. I think i'd feel weird having one. I've never been to one so wouldn't know what to do. lol.

The expensive stuff will only be coats and dresses etc not everything. Fob can pay for it all

I have a my jungle family rug(the lion rug) from mother care. Its unused so if your having a boy, your welcome to have it

my friends want to throw me one but i don't know how i'd keep a certain amount of people entertained with baby stuff for like three hours! I suppose it means lots of pressies though!

And Zara boy stuff is beautiful too.

I got my little one a wee toggle cardy from Ted baker baby, it's so lovely!


My theme is jungle fun from babies r us.
I prefered the green to the blue, plus i'm staying with my parents until my OH gets back from working away and my bedroom here is green!

The toys R us jungle one is cute!. i dont wana do just pink or blue i dont think. i want loadsa bright colours. Im torn between mamas and papas ginger bread nursery or this other one they have i cant remember the name, or a space one.

there are plenty of websites with game ideas and stuff. I think im just guna try that for entertainment

Yeah i wanted a little boy! I wouldn't have minded if it was girl but i wanted a wee man! Expesh because my OH wanted a son as well!

I don't want a full on baby shower, but friends from college wanted to throw me one so I agreed for them to have a mini one on my last day of college before I go on maternity leave .. They're all REALLY excited about the twins so I couldn't say no haha. I think it's a cute idea though, if you want one, have one!
