Hi my lb is 17months old, had a very traumatic birth with him ending in emergency c section was very teary and upset I didn't get the birth I dreamed of however was grateful we were both healthy n ok, oh n I are getting married this year and wanna try for a baby straight away, if it wasn't for the wedding id be pregnant already!:haha:
anyway id love a vbac but as my lb was 9lbs at birth, would I be able t have a natural birth I was induced last time because he was too big for me, was told id never have gotten him out by myself and he wouldn't have survived labour, :( is anyone else thinking about what birth they would like to have next time? I tried all the tricks in the book last time when I was over due, 3 sweeps, sex, warm bath, long walks, pineapple, I said to oh next time we are lucky enough to have another one I don't want anything like last time, no sweeps, nothing at all just gonna let nature do its thing lol!however my friend is a midwife and she said it depends on the size of your baby if its a small baby they will let u vbac if not it will be another cs,the thought of another cs doesn't scare me as I know what its like now and im fine with that if it comes t that, roll on November until we can see if I ll be pregnant for Christmas :haha::haha:

any one?i hate that this site shows you how many looked at your post yet couldn't be bothered to answer back

Hi I too am hoping for a vbac this time around after induction leading emcs. 9lb is a good size but not overly big so am surprised they are saying that next time you'll need a cs if the second baby is 'big'. Are you very petite/narrow hips?

Another lady I know was told she was having a big baby 10lb based on late ultrasound but turned out to be 6lb 5oz. She gave birth naturally again despite the drs thinking it was going to be big. US can be notorious lyrics off by quite a bit.

Are there other hospitals near you could go to or get another opinion.

Congrats on the wedding not long to go!!!

I've been thinking about this constantly since I give birth 3 weeks ago! I'm not planning on having another for a couple of years but I'm so anxious about the same thing happening again. I also had a failed induction which led to emcs. I won't have a choice whether to go natural next time because I'm diabetic so it's a choice between induction at 38 weeks or planned cs. I also tried everything sex, bouncing on ball, epo, rlt... I was 1cm and thinner then expected when I went for induction but I just didn't progress past 2cm and didn't even feel contractions I was having for 8 hrs on the drip!! I'm thinking I'll have an elective cs unless I go into Labour naturally before hand then I will attempt a vbac. I had an atonic uterus because of the long induction and lost a higher side of normal amount of blood during my emcs and I don't want to risk it again.

yeah ive never been bigger than a size 10/12 and he was massive when he was born, I hope to go myself next time, wish you both all the best for next time around,

I had no real option other than an elective but am hoping it will be a very different experience to my emcs last time after 2 days of traumatic Labour. I'll let u know in 2 weeks. Have a wonderful wedding

thanks for the wedding wishes!getting exciting now with 9 months to go! best of luck to you both hope you both have smooth birth and both babies n mamas safe and happy :flower:

Just had my vbac 22 months after an emcs with dd1. Her heart rate dropped during pushing. This time around I gave birth at. 37w5d to a 6lb 15oz little girl. 10 hours if labor and 40 minutes of pushing!

I had a cs due to my baby being breech. I tried a vbac for my second baby, but unfortunately my dd was refusing to come out. I also had placental abruption and had lost a lot of blood. For this reason, I was taken in for an emcs.
I'm now pregnant with #3 and have to discuss birth with my dr. I thought that it was an automatic cs, but another mother told me that they still let you try for a vba2c. I'll have to discuss the pros and cons with my dr and then decide.

I hope you are able to give birth the way you would like!

I had an EMCS with my DS as my waters had broken four weeks early and only then we learnt that he was breech. So although I didn't have quite a full on emergency section - once it was confirmed he was breech it was just a matter of waiting for the theatre - I did feel like I missed out on the experience of giving birth and labour. Even now I feel sad about it when all my other mum friends talk about their experiences. Kind of feels like although I have a child I haven't actually given birth. So I really hope I can have a VBAC this time around.

I want a vbac. I am lucky though, I went into labour myself and pushed for 2 hours with no pain relief. I only had an epidural at this point to allow my body to rsest and prevent a section. 2 hours of sleep and 2 more of pushing with the epi and he didn't budge. my cs was not considered an emergency and was just unplanned since neither of us were distressed. Turns out he was 10 ld, back to back and also positioned off to the left.

I now know that I can cope with a med free back to back labour so want a vbac next time.

Hi all. I had an emcs after a failed induction. DD's heart rate would dip low during contructions.

I'm hoping for a vbac next time.

I had a planned section last time after a bad tear with my first,
Planning another elective, last time was perfect, the only thing I want to change is hoping to be sat up abit more after birth to help with bf x

I had a vbac 27 months after my emcs. First time I got to pushing stage but he wouldn't move. Turned out he was brow presentation so had forceps but no luck. All very dramatic and scary. I literally thought of vbac for 2 1/2 years! Second time 4-10 cm was 2 hours and pushing just over a hour. Only had gas and air. 9lb 4oz!!!!! To the original poster I'm very small too. 5ft size 8-10 (UK) and I had a 9lb + vaginally. It's pretty rare for a baby to be too big to birth. Hope you all get the births you want x

There will be no next time unless something miraculous happens. Four kids+ three c sections=I'm done.

Yes I have had 2 vaginal births and a elective section with my youngest due to being breech. next time it will be another section, there is no way I'd opt for a vbac, as I don't want to take the risks and it would be a really bad idea considering how my previous vaginal births went.

I continue to go back and forth about vbac or elective c/s. I figure I will wait until I'm pregnant again to decide and with consideration of what my doctor recommends. :)

Been thinking about this.
We're TTC #2 and I've been wondering if I'd go for the repeat c-section or try for the VBAC.
I had a ROUGH recovery since I was in labor for 24hrs previous to needing the c-sec. SO much pain.

But w/ just doing a repeat c-sec.. I shouldn't be in as much pain since I wouldn't have contractions to worry about.
But then again, another side of me thinks that maybe I should try for the vbac b/c... why not.
I dunno... not pregnant yet so still hve plenty of time to think about it heh.
If I was pregnant right now... I'd probably lean more towards a repeat.
