Hi Girls

Well i would just like to hear from any one with endometriosis.

I have been trying to concieve for 6 years with no avail i was diagnosed with pcos 3 years ago and had 6 months of failed clomid cycles,

Im begining to think i have endometriosis as the symptoms i have lead me to think that i might have it.

symptoms i have are,

excruxiating period pains getting progressively worse over the months
severe pelvic pain even when not expecting period
shooting pains in rectum and vagina
pain after sex
period becoming more and more iregular
painful ovulation

Has any of you girls been diagnosed with endo and does these symptoms sound familiar PLEASE HELP.

:hugs:

Those definitely sound like endo symptoms. I have pain during my period that almost makes me faint, it doesn't even realy feel like a cramp, it's just like pain that I find hard to describe. And sometimes I will get a ripping sensation in my lower abdomen in between periods when I stand up quick. I'm waiting for a lap for a confirmed diagnosis of endo, but my GP thinks that's probably what it is.

Thank you for your reply

Hun thats exacly what i feel to its like theres a knife slashing up my uterus, its absoulutly horrible, the ripping sensation u describe sounds exacly like what i get its hard to even explain the pain it takes my breath away, when i get it i have to hold on to something or bite my hand.
Have you been having trouble concieving hun.

I have yes, we've been trying for a little over a year. I had to wait ages to see a FS and then she did an HSG which came back all clear. next step is a lap which will probably happen late Dec. The waiting is driving me nuts. I've read tons of books on natural treatments for endo but I think I need to have the lap to get some major things treated.

have you talked to your doc about this? I know I've felt like there is something wrong for about 3 years now, one dr just came be bc pills, and my current doc gave me painkillers. It was only when we were trying to conceive that they started taking it seriously.

I've been under fertility speacialist for 3 years and all they done was scans, HSG, Blood tests, sperm tests, prescribed me clomid and then when that never worked they said IVF would be the next option even though i told them all these symptoms i have that clearly points to endo, i think they have not done enough so im going to my gp to tell him that these symptoms are getting worse month by month to see if they refer me to a gynocologist instead of the FS.

Because im under the nhs i think they dont wanna waste money on me having a lap dye and then IVF so i think they just giving me the easiest option which would probably never work.

I just hope they realy do something to look into it ive had enough of waiting.

:hugs:

That definitely sounds like Endo symptoms, and I would go and get referred to a gyno "just to check" :) Though, make sure you get referred to one that is good at cutting out (not lasering ideally) endo... I had the op in June by a endo specialist in NZ and have had amazing pain relief since.

hi sorry to jump in but i have to have a laparoscopy done within the next 4 weeks im really worried and upset as they have told me to stop ttc till op and im also worried how long after the op i will have to wait before i can have intercourse again, i have to have this as i get pain through intercourse and out of my 25 day cycle i feel like im going to get af 20days out of the 25 with constant af pains, i had a scan and that came bk clear, if i don have anything bad there will they remove it that day??? and what can they find that is stopping me getting pregnant? been trying since march xx advice please :flower: xx

Sounds like endo to me! I was given a lap in Jan to confirm endo. I had almost all the exact same symptoms. I also got hip pain and spotting mid-cycle. My luteal phases were also really short. The Lap surgery sorted it a treat as you can see from the ticker! (though I was also given clomid to help!)

Best of luck, I would demand a lap if I were you!

wow congratulation :flower: was you ttc long? i didnt mention the hip pain or leg pain didnt think that was a symptom but i am 26 and i feel 80 haha do u think if they will remove it i will conceive, if thats my problem? i have heard that after a laparoscopy you are more fertile? xx

Here is an article I found online about the lap, this might be a good resource for you

Well the Lap surgery certainly worked for me! And the hip pain is no more!!! I was TTC for 3 years in total. then had the lap at the end of jan. (first following period was horrendous, just to warn you!) second one was just like they were when I was a teenager!!! Forgot how easy they used to be! I was given clomid to 'give me a boost' and conceived first cycle.

Endo is aweful because it creeps up slowly and you don't really realise things are getting worse until they are MUCH worse!

Again best of luck!

That is soooo true! That's exactly what happened to me, the only reason I'm getting a lap now is because I'm trying to conceive, but I've had symptoms and seen dr's for years and they just wanted to give me the pill and painkillers.

Yep those symptoms are what i get speacialy the hip pain,i dont however spot between periods but im becoming more and more irregular and also very sharp pains in uterus which has me jump off my seat when it comes on,have booked an appointment for gp next week and hopefully he will send me to a gynocologist to see what they can do for me.

Congrats daisii on your pregnancy :)

clomid is used to induce ovulation for people who dont ovualte on a regular basis (it is also prescribed to people who ovulate on their own for a much better succsees of pregnancy.

Yes i have also reaserched on hypothyroidism and have hear of many women struggling to concieve because of this but hopefully it shouldent cause you any preoblems. are you taking any meds for it?

Dont give up ive been at it 6 years and it has caused alot of stress and worry but i will never give up on my dream of becoming a mother.

xx

It drives me mad that docs are so useless at diagnosing endo. I was fobbed off for 8 years til I put my foot down and demanded a diagnosis. Two laps and a course of Zoladex later I am still in pain. It has taken us 16 cycles but am pregnant for a 5th time and hoping this one is going to stick.
You really need a diagnosis first before they try IVF. It's apparently more successful after endo has been removed.
Here's a link to a list of tips for laparoscopy (I keep posting this link because it's full of good advice!)

Feel free to ask any questions!

How long after you lap did it take you to conceive?

Thanks for the link!

In my case I had a lap in Nov 08 which diagnosed, I was then put on Zoladex as pain hadn't improved, the pain then got worse whilst on Zoladex (another cyst formed) so I had another lap in June 09 which found more endo had grown (which shouldn't have happened) so was told to either go on the Pill or TTC. We were advised that our chances of conceiving would reduce dramatically if we didn't try soon. So we waited for my cycle to return and started trying in Aug 09. We first conceived in Nov/Dec 09, then Jan, Feb and April of this year (getting to 4/5 weeks preg each time).
I recommend acupuncture and chinese herbs as we conceived most often when I was having those therapies, unfortunately we couldn't afford to continue.
Wow, sorry for the long post!
