Any ones baby have a lactose intolerance

SaraAbi How do you get ur LO to drink the nutramagen milk???

My LO really refuses this?

xxxx

We mixed it half and half with breast milk and then gradually increased the nutramigen so she didn't really notice. She refused it aswell in the beginning but we managed to trick her!

I really feel for you and i so know where you are coming from.
I bf'd until about 6 weeks and then started to have problems with Layla. She had incredibly loose poo's, and would go after everyfeed sometimes twice. It was very green also (sorry tmi!) Then about 5 mins after each bottle would scream and scream and be in pain. The only way i could settle her would be to out slight pressure on her tummy. She was great at bringing wind up so i ruled out colic or reflux. I spoke to my wonderful hv after about a week and she suggested it was possibly a lactose intolerance. My gp prescribed me SMA Lactose free (lf) and from the 1st bottle has been back to herself. I get the milk on prescription so it doesn't cost me anything. Layla has just had her 6 mth review and they asked me to try and wean her back onto normal sma, but after the 2nd bottle i knew she is defntely still intolerant, she was screaming in pain again! I now have to carry on until she is 1 and then wean onto cows milk to see if she is ok with that.
You can buy the LF from the shelf but it is avaliable on prescription.
Try this and she may just have the lactose allergy and not the full milk allergy that would need her to have soya milk.
good luck xxx

thanks hun, yeh Iv just been reading the differences there, and about the small risks of soya milk so Im not goin to hang around on that, Im actualy looking on the sma at the moment haha, ringin GP first thing monday morning as she is definatly a lot more settled, not totally settled but its only the first bottle x
