Heyyy MsCC
You are so positive and gorgeous, you are truly like a ray of sunshine!!
Thank you
Yes you are very right, there is a good chance I see no long-term impact from this.. it all depends on which area was affected and how deep they had to cut as to whether issues with conceiving (if the cervix opening was tightened, so IUI helps), with miscarriage (incompetent cervix, but that may be later in the pregnancy, 14 week onwards), with birth (the scar tissue may not allow the cervix to dilate enough, so very rarely a cesarian would be required) appear later. It is good to be aware of these risks and be on the look out for any issues, a lot of women were told not to worry, and sadly lost their babies. Especially heart-breaking was the story of a lady who was told she should see no issues till week 14 or so, and lost her baby a day before the doctors appointment..
Lol, the reason I read up on it is because, guess what,
I had my colposcopy done with lightening speed last Friday 22nd! I was in a lot of pain and had not been able to sleep, so called the private BUPA insurers (we get this through the company, however I thought colposcopy is not covered after reading their exclusion list.. it turned out it is, and I had an appointment within half an hour on the same day!). I had the LLETZ, so am waiting for the results of the biopsy to tell me if they had got it all, and what exactly the abnormality is, the doctor said rarely it may turn out to have been cancerous or that she had not got it all. I will then have another colposcopy and test for HPV 6 months later.. a lot of women seem to need another treatment. If I am not clear of the HPV virus at that point, but smear is normal then I will be tested regularly to make sure it does not cause abnormality again.. Sorry for the TMI.. There might be some other women out there who may relate to this or want to share their story and whether this impacted them when TTC later...
All that said, a lot of women went on to have kids without any probs, sooner or later, my mom included within a month of the colposcopy...
)
(tho she was 5-6 younger than me at that point...) Sometimes the surgery cuts out some of the CM glands which may make it hard for sperm to survive, however Pre-seed helps in those cases, or IUI of course.
So um.. I am not allowed to have sex within 3-4 weeks.. a requirement I will almost meet.. and I am not supposed to get pg as yet.. a requirement I hope I will not meet.
I am working on strengthening my immune system by taking supplements and eating the right foods
What makes me think I should be OK is that while my cervix was vascous and extremely painful during the smear, it was way better during the colposcopy, and only a small area was affected! Shocking! So I think all that bloating and fever was a sign that my immune system had been kicking some HPV bum behind the scenes!
Sadly, I was not told what strain of HPV I have. (it helps decide whether to take action sooner or later if the next smear shows abnormality) I do suspect it might be 16, as this is the one that develops really quickly. I had an absolutely clear smear 1 and a half years ago!
My AF has showed up..well, I think it is my AF rather than heavier spotting from the colposcopy.. So it is on to cycle #3 TTC
My fiance's project is going groovy and he should be here soon
So I hope we can get down to business lol
He is having some sperm analysis done as soon as he lands, so that we know if all is well. He did a home fertility test and his sperm count showed a bit on the low side. He has been taking his wellman pre-conception supplements, which contain lots of Maca extract, so he has already seen an improvement..
Of course, there would be no point guessing and we should wait for the analysis report later in the month
My ovarian abnormality blood test has come back negative! Yay!
This would not cover cysts though, would it... I do have an ultra sound scan next Thursday, so I presume that will give an indication as to whether there are any ovarian issues not picked up by the blood test that might explain my ovaries pain.. I do hope I get the all clear on that front...
) So anyway, I have not given up trying to conceive.
Hey what are the results of your tests???
Any big fat positive news yet???
Btw, I do not think a urine test at 7 DPO would be reliable.. Although a blood test that early post ovulation would be reliable!
Gosh, I so hope this is your month!!! It is so frustrating to keep trying.
Tho fun of course.. lol Reading the statistics, it takes healthy couples 6 months on average to get pregnant.. It took my grandma in her early twenties a whole year to conceive a second time (after she waited for 6 years to try to conceive...)!! However, it took my mom a month only!! Gosh, I am so hoping to be more like my mom for the first time in my life!!!
)))
Have you been cooking/baking some more since we last spoke?
Any exciting recipes I could try? I have had no time for baking, but cooked a new chicken/rice recipe which was so simple and divine lol (i was in desperate need of some homely filling tasty food) https://www.recipelink.com/msgbrd/board_1/2010/SEP/8757.html And am now looking at a bean recipe!
