I am 33 weeks and 2 days. I’ve been very crampy all week so at my OB check yesterday they went ahead and did a fetal fibronectin test and a cervix exam. The test came back positive and my midwife said i was 50% effaced, 1 cm dilated and in -2 station. She also said my cervix is very soft and she sees it as very unlikely that i will make it to my due date and is just hoping he stays put for at least three more weeks. I also lost my mucus plug that night. I know it can vary for every person but did anyone have a similar experience? I want to know when to expect it

Haha oh man. Don’t we all want to know when to expect it! [-o<

I was 2cm and effacing with a soft cervix at my 35 week appt. and here we are, 38 weeks tomorrow!

Best advice is to just go about it like baby’s coming right on time and try not to stress. Babies come when they are ready 99% of the time. If you don’t already I suggest listening to positive affirmations, such as iHypnobirth (the app) it really helps me relax every night O:)

Seriously wouldn’t it be nice to know?

I recall being 2/2.5cm, 50-75% effaced, baby head down, and -2 station starting 32/34 weeks. The BH started kicking on around 36ish weeks. But honestly I was in the ER three days before I gave birth and was still at those same numbers. Then suddenly I woke up one day to my mucus plug in my undies and contractions already less than five minutes apart lasted over 30 seconds. Good times. So you never know. My gyn told me at my 32w appt usually (keyword usually) moms with numbers like mine go early but not premature (which I did by ten days) and have short, easier labors (which I did).

I had my bag packed and laundry done, but did not make my last Costco run (literally planned to do it the following day) and a few odd chores. Honestly it sucked not being prepared with easy meals. Or to come home with a 5lb baby which all my products were for a 7lb baby

Sounds like you're on your way. Was the test they did the one to determine if amniotic fluid was being lost?
I'm in the UK and I'm surprised they sent you on your way just like that because 33 weeks is still early and id have thought you'd be monitored and given steroids for baby's lungs.
