Any symptoms before colposcopy?

OMG $180! That's insane, lol

I still didn't manage to finish my shopping :( but so very nearly there now.

How you feeling today hun? xxx

I was doing pretty well until I just read this research paper which came out this month about how people who fall pregnant < 12 months after a LEEP/LLETZ procedure are 4 times as likely to miscarry as people who wait > 12 months. :( So now I'm really really hoping that everything comes back fine next week and that I don't need any follow-up procedures.

Why would this have to happen right before we want to TTC? Seriously, we're only like 6 weeks away from wanting to start... *frets*

Oh hun, it's always the way :( fx everything will be fine. Hopefully you won't need any further treatment and you'll be able to ttc as planned. And anyway, just because it could cause you to miscarry doesn't mean you will :hugs: Have the dr's mentioned ttc at all? How long they recommend you wait?

Don't work yourself up over it, just wait and see what the results say, easier said than done I know :hugs:

xxx

We told them on Monday that we were planning to try in February and would the colposcopy affect that at all and she said no. I guess we'll ask again if they need to schedule another procedure. Deep breaths!

Okay, my results came back quickly - CIN1 cells, the lowest grade of abnormality, and the doctor's recommendation is that we just wait and have another pap smear in 12 months to see if it's resolved itself. HOORAY!

Oh hun, that's fantastic news, I'm made up for you :hugs: now you really can relax and enjoy Christmas
xxx

It certainly did :) no abnormalities. I have to go back in 12 months for a check up xxx

I am still waiting on my results. Spoke to my doc the other day and she said if it was anything I would have heard by now so am hoping no news is good news but I did have my colposcopy almost 6 weeks ago. Wish my results would hurry up xx

Wow, six weeks is a long time. :( I hope they put your mind at rest soon!

That is a long time to wait, I would be asking my gp to chase them up. Hope you get them soon xxx

They told me 6-8 week wait but could be longer as christmas and new year, i think i will wait until 1st feb then start chasing up and asking questions xx

Hi ladies - thanks for this thread and was so relieved for those of you who got the all clear by the end of it.

I had a letter back yesterday to say my smear showed high grade changes. I am freaking out... I've been spotting in between periods this month (and that's really rare for me). The nurse said she could see blood on my cervix when she did the smear test.

I have been doing the daft thing tonight and googling... now managing to work myself up into a panic that I've got bladder cancer (because I've had a few UTIs with bleeding last yr)... and that it's spread to the cervix. Think I am going crazy! How long does it take you to get the colposcopy date, UK ladies? My GP said it could be a few wks, so I've been investigating going private - I've got the insurance through work. However, phoning up about that today, and you have to have an OP appointment with the private consultant first, and then the colposcopy on a separate date... so that could be as long as just waiting for NHS colposcopy in the long run!

Eek this is crap isn't it! Hope you get your results back soon Vicky xx

It's very nerve wracking, but honestly, step away from the Google. If your doctors were very concerned that things were going down right now, they wouldn't let you wait a few weeks for the colposcopy. :hugs: Fingers crossed you get the all clear ASAP!

Hey ladies, so i rang the hospital whilst at work yesterday and was told the girl wasnt in but would get back to me today, i gets home from work amd theres 2 brown envelops through my door!! My results!! Finally after 9 weeks of waiting! Anyhow i was told i had mild changes at my appointment but the loop confirmed mild and moderate changes so CIN 1 & 2!! All which is supposed to have been removed. I have a follow up in june for another smear and test of cure whatever that means. I wonder how they know they have removed it all though without having a 2nd look. Oh well least its good news for now. Xx

I think the cell changes are quite visibly obvious once they use the stain, so presumably their confidence that they've removed everything comes from that? Glad to hear they think they got it all though! And good luck for June. :D

Actually i just realised i wasnt told mild!!! Dohhh i was told high grade and when i went for my colposcopy she explained i was only just within the moderate. I was never told mild until i got my results lol. So really the results were alot better than i first thought. June cant come quick enough tho xx
