Jes woundering if any of you have got SS involved for whatever reason and what sort of 'support' they have offered nd how they have treated you. Thanks

You mean about the pregnancy?

No,I really haven't...Didn't know they get involved unless there's some kind of an unfit situation?

i have got to make SS aware that i am pregnant due to the fact i was in care and had a SS so then they decide if they want to be involed but i dont know yet

when I had my baby i was in care they was in my life until I reached 18 if u need any advice pm me x

My friend was 17 and so was his girlfriend when their baby was born.. they moved out shortly after the baby was born into their own apartment. Had CAS involved, they had to come do an inspection of the entire house make sure it was fit for a child, etc. Checked to make sure cupboards with chemicals were locked up, etc.. public health nurses also did a visit. They did sort of interviews with them making sure they had jobs/money

My friend was 17 when she had her son and he is now 9 months, they still live with her mom, but the public health nurses still visit, CAS also got involved with her, made sure her home was clean and fit for a baby, etc.. that she was okay to be a mom.

And my friend's sister was 18 when she had her baby, living with her parents, and they still came and checked out the house and did some sort of like evaluation on her to make sure she was a fit parent, that the house was alright, etc.

(CAS being Children's Aid Society, by the way..)

Well, if the mother is a child herself ( under 18 ), SS will get involved in some way, most likely just to offer support, though.

I'm involved with SS because I have a disability and mental health problems.

My mum is a family support worker, so I know quite a lot.

PM me if you'd like to chat :)

Nope they arnt involved with me. Im 17 and they havn't tryed to get involved yet. But if they are getting involved with you hun, they will probs just offer support and guidance when and if you need it :hugs:
