Any tips on what to ask at doctors?

Hi, I'm going to get the results of my blood tests at the doctors tomorrow and am feeling a bit nervous. I don't know why but I have a feeling that our problem in conceiving may lie with me and am worried about getting my results. The tests are only the basic CD3&21 tests, but even if they show everything is ok I'm still worried it may be something else that they haven't tested for. I know its stupid to thing negative but I can't help it. I don't really have much reason to feel worried as my cycles are very regular and I don't have any odd symptoms but I just have this weird feeling about it. I don't get EWCM and I'm scared that's a sign my body's not doing what it should be doing.

If the tests are ok is there anything else I should be asking for? Any additional tests? Or asking for a referral to fertility specialist? DH has already been for his SA but we're still waiting on results.

Sorry for the moan but any tips would be appreciated. x

Hey hun

You aren't moaning so don't worry - it's all very daunting but you've come to the right board to ask!!

You get your bloods done and your DH will get his SA results. Depending on the results - DH may need to have a second SA done.

In process for the Uk differs from other countries and i'm not sure where you are but if i'm in the UK and after my bloods (which were okay) and DH's SA (which wasn't) we got a referral letter to our local fertility clinic.

Our first appt there went over the history and then they arranged for me to have a transvaginal scan and also an HSG (dye test) - DH had another SA and some blood tests (karotype and hormone levels). That was it.

I'm sure that you guys will be okay - do you know if you are ovulating etc. and having regular cycles? :dust:

Thanks very much Rachelle.

As for whether I'm ovulating I don't know for definite. I have tried OV tests only one month (never really wanted to get too obsessed so tried to steer away from doing tests at home). I did them from about day 11 and they got progressively darker until I got a line the same as the control line on day 14. I've read though that they don't confirm ovulation so I'm only suspecting that I do - I get twinges round about the same time as well, but again, don't know if that really confirms anything.

I do have regular cycles though - bang on 28 days every month - in fact I can even pinpoint :witch: to within an hour or two. I've heard that's a good sign but I guess you never know.

Are there any other signs I should be looking for? x
