I think you're worrying to much about things that don't need to be worried about, not without good reason anyway. People are living longer than ever these days and more ladies than ever in their 40's are having healthy children naturally. You're living proof of that, huh! Please don't drive yourself crazy with thoughts like that. Enjoy and be thankful that you are a lucky lady. I salute you. :hugs:

hi sunbeam i too am 44 i know what you mean but i worked out have one now by time is 18 will be 62 so not ancient. i like to think they keep us young for instance my older kids are 23 and 25 and also have one 3 and when they girls got more self reliant i got used to sleeping thru and no tantrums but started to become quite sedentary but no time for that with three year old, always running here and there.. i worry too but more bout what others make of me wanting another... now that is stupid cos part of me say stuff em my business not theirs. 40 is the new 30 so you follow your heart n if you feel can give child the energy, love and security it needs then you already have the answer. good luck :hugs: sarah x

your worrying too much, do what you feel is right, if the baby is loved and cared for who cares how old the mummy is and like readytogiveup says....40 is the new 30 x

My grandmother is 93 and having the time of her life! She goes to the casinos, goes to movies, does Wii bowling, plays cards daily, sees friends every day. Your child would be almost in their 50s at this point and you would still be going strong! So don't worry. As Nice said, people are living much longer. 90 is the new 30! :winkwink:

I just turned 38 I have a daughter 19 3 sons age 16,3 and 2 months I also worried about dying and what other people thought but I dont think I have any more reason to worry then someone in there 20's and to be honest I get to enjoy my babies more at this age then I did when I was in my 20's less stress over money and work if another baby feels right for your family then dont let your age stop you :)

thank you so much for all your kind comments :flower:

I agree with the others! 44 is young these days! My Great Aunt is 91 and still goes line-dancing twice a week!! It sounds like you are a caring and thoughtful mum and would give your children a great start in life and a good grounding for their own future - I think this is the main thing xx

I fully understand what you mean! I have two beautiful children, a girl 9 and a boy 5. I am 36 and had a miscarriage at 9 weeks this time last year. I would love more children but for some reason am terrified of trying again. It's not the miscarriage or the birth but I am terrified of dying or losing the baby or some other things going horribly wrong. Very strange but true  . x

I am 39 next year when I have my 3rd (and last) I too worried along these lines......but I came to the conclusion that any mum of any age can die, be it illness or accident, we dont know what is around the corner. My midwife told me they tend to find that younger mums can cope better physically, and older can cope better mentally so there are advantages of being an older mum, we have a lot of experience behind us!
