:hi: I am on day 2 of my cycle started clomid today for 5 days, i'll be having a scan on days 5 and 11 and will be injecting menopur also. IUI due to take place somewhere around day 13-15 of my cycle. anybody else out there who have been through this or are going through this that can share their experiences. would like some buddies on this subject xxx.

I had my first IUI treatment in November last year, had tablets day 2-6 then was injecting as well. Had the actual insemination on day 13 of my cycle. The injections didn't hurt at all - the worst bit by far was definitely the 2WW afterwards.... Unless by some miracle I fall naturally in the next few months we will be trying again.
Hope it all goes well for you.

Hi Mel, thanks for the reply i do hope your next attempt goes well for you :hugs: how long have you been trying?

2 1/2 years, had 6 months on clomid which failed and then the IUI. What about you?

Hi

I had three cycles of clomid and IUI. Fell pregnant the last try but it was ectopic. We are meeting with the RE on Feb 14th to talk about the next steps but I think we will be doing clomid and IUI again as it worked.

PS I had totally lost hope by the third try and was all ready to do IVF in Feb. Don't lose hope if it doesn't work the first time.

FX and good luck!

Aww hun so sorry to hear that i hope whatever options you undergo next that they work for you good luck :dust:

I had 3 iuis with clomid and trigger shot which unfortunately didn't work. This month I've been injecting gonal-f on cd 4 - 9, trigger shot on cd 11 and iui on day 13.

Once you get used to the injections they're fine - and they don't hurt. The iui is generally painless too - although I've had some light cramping afterwards.

So don't worry and good luck!

I had my second round of IUI yesterday, but I am not taking any medicines, just an unmedicated cycle. I have to wait fr a positive OPK, then go in for IUI the next day.

The procedure itself is painless - just the discomfort of the speculum going in. Both times I had IUI, i had some minor spotting. I usually wear a liner after the procedure ( some of the iodine they use to clean the cervix may also leak out, so its a good idea to wear a liner). The nurse said some people have a sensitive cervix, maybe thats y i bleed a bit. All in all its easy and takes less than 5 minutes. What is hard is the TWW :winkwink:

Good luck!

I'm going in for my 2nd IUI this afternoon. The first month was bit more poking and prodding- lol, But nothing that bad, just some discomfort. Now, I only had the CD2 ultrasound (to check for cysts- and there were none- so I don't have to do that again)... then I have another mid-cycle u/s today, then the IUI.

Last month I had blood work, scans and the HSG test (dye test). The IUI is a bit uncomfortable, but I'm pretty sensitive in that area. It only lasts a few minutes though. The speculum is really the worst of it. Make sure your bladder is a bit full- I didn't know this last time and the doc said that is prob why it was a bit more uncomfortable. So today, I'll make sure to drink some water before I go in! ;)

I'm also taking Clomid each cycle- but haven't really had much side affects. I'm taking in the evening now, and that helped a lot. Last cycle I took in the am- and I felt a bit wonky most of the day. Like I took too much cold medicine. But this time, none of that. Just a bit bloated and makes my ovaries ache a bit while I'm taking it- but guess that just means it's working! lol.

Best of luck to you hun!!!! Fingers crossed!

Hi! I am on my second day of 100 mg of Clomid and I'm so excited to see what happens! My Dr said to monitor my ovulation with a kit and as soon as there's a change I'm in for my IUI! If nothing happens then I'm already scheduled for an ultrasound to see what happens.

What I'm kind of worried about is that I just got off 1 month of the birth control pill (Dr put me on it to have an HSG) on Feb 1st and I started clomid on Feb 6th. I feel like maybe the pills are still going to be in my system and maybe the IUI will not work! I hope that's not the case but let's see what happens! :)
